How to beat dragonfly?

I dunno, but there are special strats... if you are Asta, you can do the A+G grab and get that fly in to the ground.
If you are Yoshimitsu, a:B+K and get a nice combo.
Sophis 44K, auto GI and hit high...
And a long etc.

What if he goes to SDGF?

There's no clean cut way to defeat it.

What I usually do is lie there and eat the low. If the Yoshi tries the other options they won't hit grounded. With the low I'll get pushed away and hope to not fall into the same situation again.

SDGF is great. Why do you think he loses life when he's untouchable up there? I suggest backing away if he's approaching you. A+K is no joke. If you see the K flip you can try to go in for a hit if you react to it quick enough.

Asta can 28B+G your ass from SDGF. Don't get comfy up there vs Asta(and maybe Taki).

Both the B and K from DGF are linear (not sure on the kick, but if you're feeling ballsy and see it coming, jump it for pro points? lol) so stepping solves those.(I wonder if Asta can 3A_B+G hop that low kick into a free throw attempt...hmmm) The A is the only thing that keeps him in DGF and its high. Also yeah, Yoshi can SDGF if that gets all to predictable(really don't know why you'd spam DGF moves in the first place?)

Characters with long range or a way up there can shut that shit down favorably tho.

Actually, both DGF B and K randomly track for me sometimes. Not consistent of course, but hey this is Namco we're talking about ;)

I thought my reaction was pretty good, but it's completely impossible to block DFG B on reaction for me right now T_T

Duck. Will block K (punishable) and crouch under A. Stand up on reaction to block B.

that hesitation will make u eat SGF B. vuz that shit tracks when you realize oh shit, he's in SDGF now. Other attempts will fail to SDF A lol.

NO CLEAN CUT WAY, unless you read your opponent well.

Did I mention, of all Yoshi's stances. DGF cancels the fastest? :) by FAR

Yeah I noticed that about DGF, too. Am I missing something, or do the stance cancel throws actually seem usable from DGF? His door knocker combo and other main knockdowns all seem to leave him juuuuuust within throw range...

His DGF B hits grounded for more damage than it used to. In some scenarios this will still be preferable to getting up into the mixup. If there's a better way to beat all or even most of his options, I haven't found it yet.

Yoshi is just fucking solid in this game.

DGF B doesn't hit ground reliably or at all....last time i checked....or i'm on crack.

Throws out of every stance is VERY usable. They do way more damage than regular throws. 3B MUST be blocked after each of them

I think Kowtow meant DGF K, as it does do more grounded damage now.

I use DGF throws fairly often.

If you just hold the G to cancel and hit A or B he'll do the throw, very smooth and surprisingly quick.

Voldo's 2A+B makes Voldo fly straight in the air, so that might be a way you can knock him down since it goes just as high as Yoshi's Super Dragonfly.

havent seen anyone mention this yet but teh most braindead option is to SIDEROLL. completely eliminates all of his DGF options. this is assuming that they use DGF after knockdowns.
