If you had to give the characters theme songs...

I'm certain a thread of this manner has been done previously, though I felt a innocent rehashing was a bit less troublesome or more tactful than snooping through the threads in the name of topical necromancy, so, with all that accounted for, getting to the inquiry at hand: If you were tasked with assigning the characters of the Soul series with theme songs (barring those already congruous to them in the game), what would you choose for them?

I was particularly bored, so I found myself affixing appropriate songs to most all the cast, though don't trouble yourselves beyond anything too strenuous. :3 I'm always thinking about crap like this, by which I mean music (I'm a musician. 'Comes naturally.). Some of these are serious, others less so, but let's get on with it, shall we?

I feel like there is already a thread for this. Eh... I'll comment here anyways.

-Leixia (Still containing the Chinese Traditional feel, and also gives a rather joyful mood that describes her perfectly. A little reminiscent to Xianghua's SC3 theme song, but more "childish".)

-Natsu (Totally fits her character (Japanese influenced, but with a modern twist), especially since she is the successor of Taki.)

-Mitsurugi (With the exception of the guitars, as nice as the song sounds with them.

-Voldo (Inspirations of this from 0:00 to 1:19, but a lot faster in tempo, as well as inspirations of this, but faster in tempo and louder in dynamics. Maybe some opera influence along the way. Now that would be pretty...different for him.

-Xiba-Surprisingly one idea I could think of for him. A little serious for his character, but that doesn't mean he can't develop.

Yoshimitsu-0:00 to 0:44 would be awesome for him. Various inspiration from the whole song would be great as well.

-ZWEI-Definitely inspiration from This, and the percussion and 1:33-1:54 from This. Add some violins and cymbals and this would turn out to be amazing. Not sure why I want ZWEI as a Persian character, but he sure looks the part in the facial structure.

-Viola-Just keep "Dance of the Oracle"

-Tira-Just keep "Mischievous Whispers"

-Menu (Pretty fitting for it)

-Pyrrha (I picture this more of an ending song for her).

-Cervantes definitely needs something like this for inspiration. Add some Spanish folk influence somewhat like this, and Cervantes would be set for life.

-I don't know where this would go, but it sounds awesome.

-Viola-Definitely think "Adagio" (the first one) would be good for an ending of hers.

-For his theme song, percussions from this (not sure about vocals), this (of course it had to be inspired by his father), while this could be perfect for an ending or cutscene involving him.

-Around the 1:08 mark, inspiration of this, and definitely a more Japanese oriented version of this for a certain character in particular. lol

-1 and 2 Not saying who those are for. *snickers and crosses fingers* I'll give you a hint. It's not Setsuka.

for Patroklos:WWE The Shield Theme because they are the Hounds of Justice but the just beat people up.
and for Lexia: Bobby Valentino-Tell Me instrumental because it great Asian influenced them

so yeah was playing Soul Blade with the khan super session when I didn't skip the credits for once I heard this beautiful track.

Suzi Kim "Our Way Home"

made me think this could fit characters that are returning home to their loved ones after a journey.

Music imho has to suit the mood of what the characters are. They nailed it with some, and missed with others. I'm not into extreme mainstream/modern in my SC series, that kills the feels. Not to bash anyone, but consider the character's personality and capture it. Stuff in the instrumental aisle, contemporary music(that's more classical like Raphael's theme).

Now Bobby Valentino's Tell me instrumental is Chinese sounding, but it doesn't capture Leixia's personality. Going for pop cutesy anime music may seem like it captures Leixia's cheerful nature(I'm tempted to put her themes like that), but it's not Chinese.

Good examples imho.

Breeze before dawn is a nice SCV because it builds up and makes me cry a bit. Despite Pat's questionable relationship with Pyrrha, the theme captured family together is strong.

Yoshimitsu's theme I'm happy they made it like he is treading on the path of bravery. Although jtdam09 gave me a nice sample of traditional Japanese stuff that I could see capture Yoshimitsu's personality.

Then there's disappointments like Viola's default theme. It's forgettable as it could be put for anyone. Dance of the Oracle should of been the default theme as it captures how enigmatic and stunning Viola is.

Raphael's theme is fine because snobbish aristocrats should be into classical music.

Mitsurugi's theme from SC3 is perfect. The one in SCV may have a mix of old and new samples from previous SC games, but I didn't feel the bushido in that.

Anyways, pardon my dogmatic post.

Edit: SC3 has tons of great themes for the stages that can be applied for each character.

You guys don't really pick fitting theme songs. Only songs whose titles are similar to the character. If I chose a theme, the mood and theme would have to fit the character.

Well, just to continue with my suggestions

Patroklos-Arrange "Sword of Resolution" theme, or contain elements of it. Ideally, I'd include Ottoman influences like this, but that would be asking for too much.

Maxi-Arrange his themes like always.

Pyrrha-Somewhat conflicted with both of her themes. Either way, she needs something to compliment her dark, twisted background.

Siegfried-Till Fate Writes My Epitaph is SO PERFECT!! All they would need to do is arrange it

Viola-Arrange "Dance of the Oracle"

Pretty sure that I can relate all of them to a Queen song. Here's a few:

Aeon/Lizardman- Dragon Attack

Algol- Great King Rat

Hilde- Teo Toriatte (Let Us Cling Together)

Ivy- The March of the Black Queen

Leixia- Tie Your Mother Down

Maxi- Seaside Rendezvous (you know perfectly well what the song's about)

Raphael- The Fairy Feller's Master-Stroke

Siegfried- Good Company

Tira- Stone Cold Crazy

Z.W.E.I.- Don't Stop Me Now

Astaroth- Ogre Battle

Elysium- White Queen (As It Began)

Pyrrha- You're My Best Friend

Edge Master- Bring Back That Leroy Brown

Kilik- The Show Must Go On

Patroklos- Flash

Xiba- I Want It All

Nightmare- Another One Bites The Dust

Hmm, interesting proposition.

I can think of a few off the top of my head.

Talim: "New Dehli Dawn"
I know it's Indian rather than Filipino, but it suits her nature quite well- a serene, calm and infinitely wise beyond her years girl, who protects the balance of all things (She's the only being other than Algol who is shown to be able to wield both Soul Calibur and Soul Edge at the same time after all. and she does so without being corrupted). Also, it's just a cool song.

Setsuka: "HangZhou Blues"
Once again, wrong country, but it's close enough. Anyway, this one is elegant and graceful, yet intimidating and powerful- much like Setsuka. It matches her, a wandering woman who strikes down those who wrong her.

Nightmare: "Haifisch"
Sounds suitably satanic whilst remaining slow and regal enough to properly suit our most magnificent overlord.

Yoshimitsu: "Chaos"
It's by Genioh Yamashirogumi, and as such is hugely unusual. It's got a very traditional Japanese feeling to it (fitting for one who lives at the base of Mount Fuji) and has both a raw, primal feeling and a melodic, harmonious approach. Like Yoshimitsu himself, it is nature itself, raw, irrational and balanced.

Natsu: "I Know a Song that Gets on Everybody's Nerves"
Fighting Natsu in a nutshell. F**king groundbombs.

Astaroth: "Weißes Fleisch"
Because sometimes you just need some good old-fashioned RIP AND TEAR.

Tira: "Magia"
Captures her sheer insanity, inner turmoil and unending hatred perfectly, whilst sounding like something they'd play in some dark parody of Cirque du Soleil.
