In Battle Dialogue "Easter Eggs"?

Probably going to learn more story stuff in vs. mode than in the actual story mode which is weird.

What I've gotten so far. . .

Intros
"I will avenge you chief" - Yoshimitsu II says this to both Cervantes AND Voldo?? wat. Has it been comfirmed that Yoshimitsu the First was ritually killed or what? Voldo has stolen the demonic sword, Yoshimitsu, once but what has Cervantes done??

Battle

During Yoshimitsu's rainbow drop 216A+G
"Lady Leixia/Natsu. . . Forgive me!" - No Lady Pyrrha so it's not a gender thing. So how does he know them well en0ugh to talk to these two so formally? Well he is using a sword from the Fuma Clan Natsu's in. . . So he knows Taki as well? He probably journeyed with Natsu and Leixia before they met up with Xiba and Maxi or something.

"Evil Doer. . . You sha'll repent!" - He says this to Elysium, Omega Pyrrha, Nightmare, Voldo, Cervantes, Astaroth, Tira, Patroklos, and Aeon. He hasn't really met Patroklos or but he already knows they're an "Evil Doers" though he has not really met them canonically in the story. So Yoshimitsu has some sort of spidey senses to tell if you're bad or not.

"Hmph! Death. . . Strike!" - He says to everyone else: Algol, Mitsurugi, Maxi, Kilk, Z.W.E.I., Ezio, RAFAEL. . . I guess these guys are pretty neutral or good in a way.


Rafael aparently says something different when he's sucking on Viola.

You guys got anything?

Patroklos did work for Nightmare at one point, so maybe that could be the case.
 
there are a lot of these subtle battle dialogue changes for nearly every character. Pyrrha Omega and Pyrrha respond to Pat differently, also differently still to A Pat.
 
Raphael also says "...Strange?" when using the same throw on ZWEI, only instead of sucking on his blood, he gropes ZWEI's crotch and says it... He sounds plesantly suprised... which just leaves my mind in the gutter...

maybe its an inside joke from the "Is ZWEI gay" thing, or maybe ZWEI has some past connetion to Raphael... or maybe ZWEI is Amy, and we were all tricked.


Oh, and Viola/Raphiel also get intro/win quotes with eachother. Viola's win quote is pretty cryptic.

"You vex me. Who are you, woman?" - Raph intro vs Viola
"Stop looking into my soul. Damn You!" - Raph win vs Viola
"The moon will swallow the sun, and it will never rise again." - Viola win vs Raph

also if you taunt ZWEI with Viola she says "Curiosity killed the cat" instead of her usual "You're not... worthy."
 
I don't know if anyone else can confirm false but when Beating Viola, Nightmare says nothing and loses control of his arm (classic) but maybe this signifies character relation with Raphaelx Amy? (/Speculation?)
 
Whoa. . . Just found that Cervantes' 6b,b has a different dialogue against Ivy. So certain normal attacks can also have different dialogue. They don't have to be exactly slow either. So much things to check now dammit.

Cervantes says "I won't forgive you!" with 6b,b to Ivy. What exactly has Ivy done that was so bad to him?

He also taunts all the females saying,"Annoying. . . Wrench!" and his win quotes against girls is "Women and children always fetch higher prices" so he's a slaver or something. Pyrrha was a slave before so maybe she might have encountered the dread pirate in the past.

Comfirmed that Nightmare win thing against Viola. That's pretty cool. Also found his back throw against her is different also. He says "Give me your soul" to Viola instead of "Relinquish" that he says to Edgemaster.

ivy and cervantes have bad blood, she tries to kill him all the time and stuff. yes in battle dialogue as well as intros and victory quotes change.
 
Astaroth has some special dialogue when fighting Maxi. Not too familiar with the SC lore, he seems to be having retrograde amnesia as he feels like he knows Maxi but can't quite remember him. Can't remember exactly what their dialogue is.

Also, when finishing an Astaroth mirror match, Astaroth (The winner, obviously) pounds his chest a bunch and screams "ONLY I AM ASTAROTH!!!" Epic.

So I play Astaroth. Big whoop, wanna fight about it?

the reason he seems to have amnesia is because this is not the original astaroth. original was killed by maxi and has been remade by w/e created him in the first place. astaroth is a golem afterall.
 
And the reason he has that win quote in the mirror match is because there's now an army of Astaroths instead of just one.

I remember him saying that when I was playing as Xiba, too...

Here's one:
If you play Tira vs Poe, Tira's taunt says "Pretty Pyrrha!" in one stance, but then "Pyrrha... PRETTY!" in another.

The Japanese dialog is different, though. One says, "Pyrrha-chan!" and the other says, "Kirei na yo!" (I think).
 
Alpha Patroklos apologises for hitting Pyrrah with his backgrab.

'Pyrrah, forgive me.' I can't get away from being an SCIV Siegfried can I, lol.
