That's only assuming that everyone is connected to the internet or money for a gold account which one needs to use the online mode on the 360. It's better for a game to have inherent offline replay value rather than have a good portion of its replay value dependent on internet connectivity. Just look at MK9 which has both great replay value and online and is loved for it.

It has great offline replay value, unless you refuse to travel and/or you're a social reject with no friends.

Also, MK9's offline singleplayer is ass for replayability, and the online has shitty netcode, which hurts its multiplayer replayability. So SC5 > MK9 in multiplayer replayability. They're about equal when it comes to singleplayer replayability.

But fuck singleplayer.

Fighting games is nothing but a virtual dojo of fighting. The single content is nothing more than fillers meant to appease you when fighting human opponents is redundant. That aside, you should stop playing when you're exhausted and do something else.

If you're that desperate for games that might have what you seek, look for things that reward you. Things like MMOs ought to be a good start for people like you. At least everyone isn't geared against each other on rivalries....then again there will always be rivalries.

Point is, you're a fool for eating a bowl of cereal with a fork. You have to eat cereal with the spoon which is the true way to enjoy it. Fighting games like SC5 urges you to compete and win. That's its ultimate goal. When you're tired, you're supposed to take a break. Not try to pretend it's something else.

I think MoneyMuffins summed this thread up nicely... heck if you're going to be bad at the game like me, why don't you just try to improve at it? Or go to SC2..... zzzzzz
P.S. YOU’RE ALL FUCKING TERRIBLE AT THIS GAME YET YOU’RE THE FIRST ONES TO DEMAND MORE INNOVATION. HOW OBNOXIOUSLY PRETENTIOUS AND FUCKING STUPID MUST YOU BE.

15 minutes and you're already bringing in the insults based on assumptions. That makes your rebuttal so much more credible. The point is that MK9 doesn't bank everything on online and is better for it as seen with it's overwhelmingly positive reception from fans and critics. SCV had little to no offline content and replay value with decent online and the broken base speaks for itself.

In short, good online doesn't equal good replay when you're not guaranteed to actually have it.
