Yes. There is such a thing as a bad opinion. And you MUST be willing to discriminate between good ideas and bad ideas. Discrimination is a defense mechanism; its how you learn to protect yourself in life. Why buy one product over another? Because one is bad and one is good. If you're walking down a street in LA, and you get stabbed by someone wearing the colors of the bloods or the crips; in the future you will discriminate against people wearing those colors when you walk the streets in LA. It's not because you are a bigot; its because you're trying to defend yourself and your history has taught you that bias as a way to avoid future conflict.
