So yeah, I'm considering getting laser eye sergery. Who has had it done? How did it feel? Questions!!!!

Please share your experiences, if any, and thanks in advance

Unless technology has become more advanced since I've read what I've read, it's a very risky choice.
I wouldn't recommend it.

While i was still in the military serge, they offered it to me but at the time, the risks out weighted the benefit to me. But that was like 8 years ago.. Now I am not so sure but from what I heard the advancements made so far has dropped the risk... It like a coin toss bro... might be great for you or you will get fucked...

I think your chances are better than a coin toss as far risks of getting fucked up go. I don't remember where I read, but there's only a few (less than 5%) percent of people who have something go wrong. I haven't done it yet, but my bro has and my wife is actually getting it done today. So we've read up on it.

They say go with someone that's done at least over 500 procedures.

while this really isn't anything logical to base it on, i know of two people personally who have had the procedure done and they are both happy with the results. definitely choose an experienced doctor and dont skimp on the money... you tend to get what you pay for.

See the thing was all the stuff i was talking about was when I was thinking about it 8 years ago and at the time, it was still a fairly new procedure. Since then, I am sure that a lot of people have had it done with great results as others have stated so far. My thing is that I still do not fully trust it is all.

I had it done last year went from -11 in both eyes to -.25 in the left and -.75 in the right. It was pretty quick too, the whole thing lasted < 15 minutes and basically after all the eye drops and stuff I was pretty much able to see after I got out of the chair. I gotta say though it was expensive as hell and would not have done it had my insurance not covered a majority of the cost. Also if you have the option of doing so get the procedure where they make the incision with a separate laser, normally incisions are done with a blade but man I don't feel comfortable with anything sharp that close to my eye.

One nice twist on the insurance is that you can use your HSA money on it. Definitely go for an experienced doctor if you do go through with it.

I had it done to me back in 2001. I do not regret it. also risks involved are huge. things that can happen are hella scary, but they (doctors) continually reassured me it's like one in every 4000 eyes hahaha yeah.... strangest one you can get is herpes of the eyes.

the first night though is killer. and you have to wear shades for a while. but yeah.. that first night.. wooooo... the most painful night of my life. feels like my eyes were being pulled from their sockets. and it was hard to fall asleep. not to mention i had to drive to savannah from virginia 2 days after. not my brightest choice. but yeah... clearly. i survived.

i had it done a few years ago. no complications. i agree with the earlier statements about getting what you pay for. a good doctor will thoroughly test your eyes beforehand and tell you which types of surgeries are safe for your eyes specifically.

I know someone who had laser eye surgery and still needs contacts. Losing dependancy on corrective eyewear is not assured with any procedure. Additionally, it's very common to need laser eye surgery again in the future; as the operations of the recent past infrequently proved longlasting. Things have changed a bit today, but given today is today; only time can tell the long-term outcome - altho I do hope for the best. Contacts aren't that much of a burden; I would personally stick with contacts and a pair of glasses (for when you're lazy at home or want a new look) for another 2-3 years. I have reason to believe in about that time laser eye surgery will advance to the results you're looking for (no pun intended!).
