Let's talk about Siegfried Safe moves

Now right now i'm an online only siegfried, Although the mighty god that i am (jk of course but i am good)

My online style according to the "pros" is going to get me slaughtered offline not that I get hatemail from them usually GGs and I am improving to an offline-style (I'm not losing my online style either) and I don't mean lag tactics I win online without using any of them. I mean Unsafe moves. Until recently i brushed off that Un-safe moves online wasn't such a big deal. But apparently to the offliners (mostly everyone) it is. I would just look at the frame data. but

A: I'm too lazy to
B: I have a rough understanding of frame data.

So can anyone tell me all of Siegfried's safe moves? only one I know is 6B.

6B is launch punishable if blocked at close range, and still sophie deathfistable blocked at any range. Sieg can B6 it at most ranges unless it's blocked at the very tip. This may appear safe online because most online games contain anywhere from like 3-10 frames of delay. In the latter case this move would be completely safe up close (-18+10 means you would need an i8 frame move).

off the top of my head siegfried's best safe moves would be B6, agA, a+kA2A, a+ka2A (fake high into low), WS unless it's amy, taki, x, or yoshi. There's also plenty of obvious ones like SCH B and SCH A (although the second hit can be gi'd).

3B and 3A are AA'able by most of the cast but that's rather low risk for 3B.

imo you can't be lazy. Frame data is simple, if a move is i15, just assume for now that it takes 15 frames before it actively hits anything. Let's look at 6A for example:

6A

H: -1
C: KND
B: -16~-15

All this is saying is that on hit you're at a slight disadvantage (-1) although in this case that's negligible. On counterhit it knocks down. On block depending on the range it's blocked at it can be anywhere from -16 (if blocked up close) to -15 (if blocked far away). This is important because if another siegfried player tried to 6A you up close and you block it you can 6A them back for free (6A is an i15 move).

H: -1 means that on hit you're at a disadvantage of 1 frame. So for example if 6A hits and you try to B6 (an i16 move) then you would have to wait one frame for it to make contact (so it would be treated like an i17 move). This also means that if your opponent does an i16 move after the 6A then theoretically they would counterhit you even though you both used an attack of the same speed (theoretically because 1 frame is pretty fast and not a lot of time for your opponent to take advantage of).

C: KND just means that 6A knocks down on counterhit. This is one of the reasons 6A is great.

6A was a bad example actually because it pushes out pretty far and most characters can't really punish it even though it is supposedly -15.

I think he means b6 is a safe move he knows. Onlywing I think you should Learn how to read frame data

^I understand 95% of it now thank you very much!

anyways.

Aga Twice..is it a legit strategy?

Aga is like +2 +3 on Block right?

so if the opponent tries to punish, is aga fast enough to counter that punish? Tried it twice online worked twice. but then again Its online.

Thought you didn't follow frame data. Yeah I think its 'legitimate' enough but even at quickest input your opponent only needs a move i16 or under to interrupt because agA is i18. Also if they see it comming and use a TC move your fucked. Its important to vary up what you do after a blocked agA IMO. If you re agA every time eventually your opponent will catch on and use a 4k like move on you. This is what i wanted to discuss in the other thread, What seig should do at +2 because it happens after agA is blocked and after b6 hits. Still think you should be trying to play people offline brother man. Travel times of over a hour are acceptable IMO

2B+K may be effective.

Once again, I would go play offline people more often. But school has been getting in the way and there are not that many people in my area. (Obviously NJ is the center of SC in the U.S but i'm not going to drive an hour just to play SC just yet)

And then, there are a few players, such as myself, that are limited to just online, due to disabilities. You try getting a 300+lb power wheelchair into someone else's house/a wheelchair inaccessible place...
