Life After Nationals/Evo?

Will anyone play this game after Nats/Evo is said and done? It seems that this game is dead/dying, at least from my standpoint.

Man, I put way too much work into this game to quit anytime soon. I'll just keep playing and see where it goes after the summer is over.

I don't see any fighters i like besides this one :(. Tekken...blah. Street Fighter...major blah. What else is current gen? I could go for Blayze Blue but I have a feeling I'm gonna suck balls and never go competitive like Soul Cal.

I hate SC3 so much for killing what could be a great community and keeping this game going strong for years. Unless Namco releases a good DLC (complete with tag team)...I just don't know. Tag team could save this game easily though. Imagine the counter picking and the combos! This game would be amazing! I think my fighting game career dies with this game the way things look.

But in all th fighting game genre has been on a major decline for years and being pushed out by Smash Bros (I find this game disgusting in competitive play) and Street Fighter is not making things better.

I personally would hate tag team - And there are no other good fighting games, in my opinion. Also, I don't want to spend forever learning a new one.

Not if everyone keeps crying like a girl.

Also if the majority of the players move online the game is already dead.

I'm not quitting no time soon, especially since it took so long to get a consistent offline community going. I'll ride this game out intil SC5 comes out since NB ain't doing shit to this game. Plus I don't see myself playing any other fighters or playing SC4 online.

I don't think that many will quit after evo/nats. If you are still playing the game at this point, why quit? And why would quit after you spend the time and money to go to Evo?

We'll see what happens once the summer comes around.

What continues my extended love for the series is the competition. If it dies god knows how long I'll play SC4.

I played DOA 3 for 2 years with hardly any competition. I also played Smash Bros for more than 2 years casually with casual players and Soul Calibur has won my interests over it.

I makes me sad to think that there will be a fraction of the people playing this game after nats. Do you guys really think that all the tourneys and shit will stop after nats? That ruins my day. I only got to go to 1 tourney. I have plans for evo but I aint gonna play Im going just for the fun of it. I will just happne to be in vegas that weekend anyway.

But forgive me for being new to the competative part of this. Is that the usual way it goes. We have 1 year full of tourneys and 8wayruns and nats and stuff like that. Or is it just more up to the community to keep it up?

I quit SC4 when SC5 comes out.

Honestly unless Hilde sweeps nats and evo(which I don't think will happen) I think the game will continue on strong. Especially if a patch ever comes.

Tekken 6 is said to have soul cal style fighting now and i fear that SC5 may never be and Tekken may just absorb it, and I REALLY hope I'm wrong. I dunno what I'll do if SC4 is no longer having offline competitive. I have no one that can even stand against me in my circle and online is disgusting. Evo is the only thing fueling me to go from casual to hopefully pro (work in progress).

I really only think a sudden flux of population spawned by it being hit at evo/nats or a DLC that does a major overhaul complete with tag team is the only way this game will survive. 2D fighters are still dominating and i hate it :(

There are really no other fighting games that interest me. I'm sticking with SC4 for a while, I'm not quitting anytime soon.

Remember each of you guys are a part of the community too. As long as you keep the competitive candle of SC lit. Then this community can survive even with BB, T6, and KoF12 staring SC4 in the face.

And don't hold your breath on DLC or anymore patches. Namco-Bandai isn't going to come through for continued support of the game. What you have now, Version 1.03 is SoulCaliburIV. Learn the hell out of it.

As for me, welp. I failed at getting in on the SC4 tourney action in its first full year...missed SB3, got to like one gathering, won't be making it to evo...hell Im curious if I'll even make it to a tourney I planned to go to the 25th. And with online being so horrible, I've little reason to actually practice. So I may just move on with BB...but don't hold me to that. SC has one thing that always, ALWAYS brings me back, it has Maxi. If it still had Valeria...I'd be playing this shit everyday still.

If by "soul cal style fighting" you mean they made it play like Tekken 4, I would be all about that, but I've heard the exact opposite. Not that I care enough about Tekken to really look into it.

Tag is kind of fucking stupid. It wouldn't save a game no one wanted to play anyway.
