1st Place: Tsubasa28 - Mitsurugi
2nd Place: Age_Of_Truth - Xianghua/Taki/Astaroth/Nightmare
3rd Place: Synraii - Siegfried/Ivy/Kilik/Yoshimitsu/Cervantes
4th Place: Bushy 21 - Setsuka/Amy
5th Place: Silent Joel - Sophitia/Siegfried
6th Place: Paragon - Amy
7th Place: Joshaurus - Cassandra/Nightmare
The tournament ran in a round robin format, FT5's and interestingly, the top 3 all had an equal number of wins: 5 wins, 1 loss, the loss being to each other:
Tsubasa beat Age_Of_Truth 5-4
Age_Of_Truth beat Synraii (AGAIN ~_~) 5-2
Synraii beat Tsubasa 5-2
In the end, the top 3 was determined by how many matches lost in total each player had.
All things considered, a sick tournament and really close - the final match (Age_Of_Truth vs. Tsubasa28) determined the top 3 - GG's to everybody there and see you all in SCV!
Before said match, I was able to get an interview with both players before and after their game and this will be edited together and posted here within 1 week.
Now, for my shout outs:
Age_Of_Truth: HOW THE FUCK DO I BEAT YOU?! I don't know what it is man - whenever I play you I feel like I've never played the game before and make mistake after mistake - GET OUT OF MY HEAD!!!
In seriousness though, you are a scary ass player and for me, definitely the best the UK has for SCIV, but that doesn't mean I won't whoop your ass in SCV. =P
GG's man - great to see you again!
Tsubasa28: I have to say, when you picked Mitsurugi you played VERY differantly to how I expected, very good space control and killer defence, defenitely the hardest match that I won - you really impressed me! You also showed some good anti Sieg knowledge and made me work very hard for every round. Congratulations on now being an SCIV tournament champion and I hope to see you again come SCV. =)
Also - thanks for the pint, if you're ever in Nottingham, give me a bell!
Bushy28: Now I think me, AoT and Tsubasa all agree that you really were the surprise of the tournament! You have a good basis and still need to learn a few things, but otherwise a very solid player and I don't think anyone expected you to come straight from online and tear people up like you did. I hope you make the switch to offline permanently and I hope I'll see you next year, GG's man!
Shoju: I wish you'd have stayed for the tournament, but the few games we had in casuals were a really good chance for me to work on my Mitsu and I really enjoyed playing you - also, your stick is SEXY!!! =D
Silent Joel: I know you like Sophie, but please play more Siegfried - you have a solid basis with him, though you are missing a few things, keep up the work with him man, you could be a wicked Siegfried! Good to finally meet you as well. =)
Paragon: Good job for a first timer, keep up your practice and I'm sure you'll be able to compete - just stop sneaking off to play Time Crisis in between casuals! =P
Joshaurus: Again, good job for a first timer, I'm sure you can improve quickly if you keep playing - don't let the triple perfect put you off, for an inexperienced player, you still played smart and defenitely have potential! Also, I'm not sure whether it was you or Paragon, but thanks for the filters - I made good use of them ^_~.
See you soon fellas!
