Thank you very much your feed back, I will try explain a few of your points .
I was very aware that a few of them were on the generic side but due to limited items and the fact I had already used most of equpent already availible to me my options were getting thin ;) considering out of 45 charactrs made only a few are on the generic side isn't bad going.
Yeah as you say the knight is vey presety but he is probably the only one out of the lot and it doesnt hurt to have at least one and again yes the chinese characters are a little generic too but I purposely wanted to create a chinese father and daugher theat were very traditional and worked together ;) Ultimatly if you look at my cast as a whole its pretty diverse with a mix of very original to the more traditional and theres a character for everyone.
Number five was indeed inspired by Elena but also alot by the female character from Atlantis
Two reasons for the sticker on number 7, firstly it was to tie in the peachy colour on the trouser that I couldn't change
and secondly I was trying to make an indian character with a layerd sari inspired look
Number ten he actually looks alot better in motion with the planets rotating and moving around him
Lastly I'm proud to be dubbed king of stickers lol
Yea the CaS in this game is pretty limited.
You have a point there, most of what i've seen from you is pretty damn unique.
Hmm....i don't see the resemblance with Kida...except for maybe the blue eyes, you should've made her tattoo's light blue than.
Uh....Sari's cover the whole body except the face and arms....so the sari look wouldn't really work anyway...but trying to make it contrast with the trouser part does work.
Oh ok.
Oh I'm aware what a sari looks like thats why I said it was inspired by ;) same goes with Kida wasn't really trying to recreate her it was more the dark skin and white hair tribal look
Yea ok, but it doesn't resemble it either lol White hair and dark skin that Elena also has....srsly if u wanted people to see even 1 resemblance to Kida than the tats should've been blue for example.
Guess we have different views on what "taking inspiration from" means @_@
I'm probably the one who interpetates in the wrong way seeing as how English is not my main language.
The thing is you can take insperation from anything but you don't have to be litaral as I said before she was just a small part of the inperation my intent was never to recreate her as I said I did't want people see Kida it just planted a seed that made ne to think about her design in a different way, the last guy who i designed was inspired by a church down the road from me! thats thats beauty of inspiration it can come from anywhere but it doesn't have to be obvious.
As for the sari again as i say it wasn't ment to be sari it was the different layers you get that i was trying to acheve, but if you think it hasn't worked thats fare enough, I'm more then happy to try it without the sticker and see how it looks.
Its at times like this that I wish that the create a character system went a bit beyond japan, china and europe
As always thanks for your comments and feedback, its always nice to know whats working and whats not and how i can change it if possible
Theres no real right or wrong answer thats the beauty of insperation :) it can be a literal or as obscure as you like different people will always see and interprate different things.
At the end of the day as long as its a good design that your proud of and people like it thats whats most important not where the idea came from.
I always watch for your posts... I will miss them. (...or... you could create another user...I'm on my third :) )
regardless I have really loved what you have given already.
@ Matty82 :
Oh, wow! I couldn't have said it better myself...! o.O
As for the limitations imposed by the amount of items found in the game, I couldn't help but smile because I also remembered an old saying: "Restrictions breed creativity."
The fact that you've already managed to create great works of art assembled from the limited amount of items found in the game through sheer amount of inspiration, dedication, patience and hard work is already living proof of that saying, Matty82. Seriously.
In any event, I thank you for adding more inspirational fuel to the fire in me by posting your latest creations. It looks like I need to brush up on my creation skills.... ^_^
I know what you mean about a break! (or I think I might). This has become a bit of an obsession for me (us ... chobek is actually a team of 2 people, my husband and I , but it gets confusing using we all the time ...so to simplify...We use I ). It has been a lot of fun so far , but, other elements of my life have been displaced by my new SCV compulsion. I also have had to stop myself a couple of times from self imposing timelines or expectations. There is no point to this if it is taxing. :) .... SO (after a long way to make a little point) enjoy your break ...no pressure intended from my direction :) and thanks for sharing what you have already ...I'm sure I've got more characters in me but I think I just need a break since I've been working on them solidly since I got the game
Once again I can't thank you and the others more then enough! it gives me so much pleasure to hear that you like my work or that it can even cause inspiration.
In all honesty I didn't think I was creating anything more creative then the next person
I've seen so many wonderfull works on this site (including yours) which have also made want to improve my own work.
Huh...? But I haven't even posted my own creations online yet...! o.O
whoops my bad got you mixed up with someone else for a second but either the gratitude remains the same :)

One last thing I have been curious about , in an earlier post you mentioned that you were an artist and a character designer...
What kind of stuff do you do outside of this and... do your creations here relate to your other work?
I'm no pro by any stretch of the imagination but ever since I was kid I have been designing characters, I like to set myself little projects whether it be an idea for a fighting game rpg or some sort of cartoon etc. I will then come up with a basic story and settings and then just design the characters that fit that world.
I wouldn't say my creations are connected to my hand drawn stuff but I suppose in some the design you can see some of my asthetic. If your interested here is the link to my deviant art page where you can see a collection my work, if you head into my gallery your see the differnt projects sectiond off. http://cammykillerbee.deviantart.com/ and once again thanks so much for the positive feedback
Wow ...some very cool stuff. I do see similarities between your creations here and your hand drawn work... but, the differences are what interest me. I still think what you have done here is amazing, but I really responded to the energy of your (hand drawn) line and wash work... it has a sort of engaging quirkiness.
Thanks for the link!
