My characters, all original.

Endgel

Holder of the Flaming Flamberg
HNI_0040.jpg

Endgel Reniyui:
The main character from a story I am creating.
Age:23
He is the son of the leader of the Fire clan knowns as Reniyui. When he was 17 years old he found deep inside the clan territory a hidden vault containing the ultimate fire sword called the Flaming Flamberg. To learn more about this sword, he leaves in secret the during the night because is father would never have let him leave.

HNI_0039.jpg

Senji Reniyui:
Age:50
Endgel's father and Leader of the Reniyui clan. He is a warrior like no other because it is said that he annihilated 3 complete battalions of demons in the demon war that happenned 30 years ago, when he was only 20 years old.

HNI_0042.jpg

Aneria Rens:
Age:23
Endgel's Girlfriend. They have a really deep connection considering that they where born on the same day at the very same time.

HNI_0043.jpg

Soahd Guhuhenna:
Age:45
King of the kingdom of Alsama. he is a really liked king. Endgel met him after he saved is daugther from a kidnnapper. he was created by one of my friend.

HNI_0044.jpg

Irshanie Reniyui:
Age:49
Senji wife and mother of Endgel.

HNI_0046.jpg

Sergion Rens
Age:55
Aneria's father. he is a really great soldier. It is said that in the demon war, he could adapt instanly to any change of pace that happened.

HNI_0047.jpg

Sarika Reniyui
Age:25
She is Endgel younger sister but this version was just me thinking of how she would look older because at the end of my story she is only 8 years old and not even born at the beginning.

HNI_0048.jpg

Super Endgel:
Age:28
Endgel at the end of my story after he mastered the Flaming Flamberg and found the truth about the sword. the sword is actually part of a set of six elemental sword and each of the six clan has one. In this form he acquired the six sword and passed the trial of the sword and because of that, the Flaming Flamberg, the Earthing Earthberg and the Thundering Thunderberg fused into the Darking Darkberg and the Watering Waterberg, the Iceing Iceberg and the Winding Windberg fused into the Lighting Lightberg, the two perfect sword that he duals wields. This outfit is also part of these two sword.

Rina:
She does not have anthing to do with my story, I created her and liked her design.

I will recreate them all in Soul Calibur 5 and post these new version once it is done.

Your characters remind me of my old CAS. I used to always brighten all my CAS for that extreme anime or fantasy look. Now, I think brightening is only necessary for certain times.

Let me break it down for ya.

The good.
>Good use of CAS piece for the most part.
>Your CAS gave me some ideas......

The bad.
>Tone down the saturation a bit. Try dull and soft colors.
>The colors don't always have to match, they could be color coordinated. (Think Black shirt, jeans, and tan boots for instance.)

Pocky Yoshi is done critiquing.....

Black and red.

BLACK AND REEEDDDD AGAHGAHGAHAAHH

For the most part, I agree with Pocky-Yoshi. They're waaaay too bright, but some of the designs aren't that bad.

Also, just my opinion: Unnatural hair colours should be used sparingly, and should never match the clothing.

Aside the first visual impact that burn teh eyes, are'nt that bad, some got even interessing pieces selection
But dude, seriously you have some problems with colours :D

My 2 cents
-Check the original SC characters to get inspirations for colour scheme and see wich saturation/balancement fit with the game style
-If you want straight copy some colour scheme, maybe use one from past games... example Zasa SC3 white-gold-dark green on black skin, was some kind of genious mix,and in SC4 nobody have it
-if you give a flying fuck (IF,obvious is ever personal choice) to create something that fit with SC spirit/style/design try to understand how born a SC char concept
-If the reply of the point above is "yes, i want understand it,but i don't even know where start" and you are'nt scared of massive (and i mean massive, big, huge, eventually boring) walls of text here
http://8wayrun.com/threads/gatsu-wannabe-good-cas-guide-aka-how-to-create-quality-shit.9835/
you can find tons of suggestions and solid base. Obvious, any question is welcome, and no question is too simple... on the contrary, simple things are usually the first thing people miss to understand :D

Why does your main character look older than his dad?

Sorry, but if you choose to carry these characters to SCV, I hope the new system will fix how old/young they look. :)

It's not JUST the saturation. Why the hell is his hair uranium-like green? Choices like this mess up your great designs. For instance, I'll use your Endgel as an example. Blue and red are already two contrasting colors, adding green makes it look really weird. I would either make the blue very dark and low in saturation, or replace the green with gold or silver, or somewhere in between. And hair doesn't have to match with a color from the outfit, as long as it doesn't look too messy; That's why designers always use dull colors like brown or beige for the hair.

How I'd change colors (just an opinion):

Endgel: Leave red as it was, make blue much darker and low in saturation, replace green by soft gold.

Soahd: Too much green, add brown or beige to make a nice contrast. Make armor silver or copper. And I'd tone down the muscularity.

Irshaine: I'll be honest, this one I don't like. The design is very inconsistent, you can't tell she's a fighter, even with a sword in the hand. I would make her less classy to match the helm. And change the blue to a bluish silver.

Sarika: I really like this one, but colors make her look weird. Perhaps making the blue parts gold or silver would make more sense.

Super Endgel: Interesting attempt, but colors are way too dull. Try adding a third color.

The ones I didn't mention I really like, expect some steals lol.

And another tip: Don't make all guys super muscular, imagine if all the dudes in the game were like Astaroth :/

I'd say try to use colors that match each other, not clash, since it ends up looking quite messy. And I do agree with the saturation; try to tune it down more. I do love the amount of originality that goes into these designs, though.

Also, I think you should save the more "mature" looking faces for your older CaS so the younger CaS look exactly like how old they are supposed to be.

Well, when I first created him, he always had green hair. This red, blue and green color schemes is not the first colors he had, at one time he was just blue and green then he went red, black and white and after that I change him to the current colors.

For now, I think I will leave my characters as they are and recreate them anew in Soul Calibur 5.

Smart choice, considering it's less than a week away...

Still love most of your designs though, very original and great "balance" between each other.
