The purpose of the law is to be upheld and kept. Laws are not made to be broken, quite the contrary. However, the keeping of the law leads to the keepers of it looking for it's loopholes.
This in turn creates a road to lawlessness that is actively upheld by the very law looking to be kept as written.
This is what irony looks like.
