Patroklos, Pyrrha, Sophitia, and Cassandra all share the same last name, how?

pretty sure ancient Greece was not a matriarchy, but the entire Alexandra all share the same last name for some reason. If Patroklos has Alexandra as his last name, his father Rothion must also be an Alexandra. But then Sophitia and Cassandra also have Alexandra as their last name which doesn't make sense. Unless Cassandra belongs to Rothion's harem or Rothion was married into Alexandra household, this shouldn't happen. Usually a man marries into a woman's house and takes her last name if the household has no son, but then Sophitia does have a brother called Lucius so her family doesn't need her to carry on the family name.
 
Prokolos' last name was Alexander, but it was changed in the official update because???????.... Anyways, it's just a plot hole and wasn't really considered. In SCI, Maxi dies and is back to life in SCII. I guess the team forgot he died or something and just made that part non-canon. It's a video game plot, do you really expect consistency Kappa
 
I think that difference was just transolation error. There's no reason Patroklos would have different last name from Pyrrha Alexandra

That was done because it was the masculine version. Pyrrha's last name was also listed as Alexander earlier on the site.
 
I think it's just that Patroklos and Pyrrha have their mother's surname. It's not totally crazy, I got my own mom's surname rather than my dad's.
 
Well, I know that Russian surnames are gender specific at least; if Pat were Russian it would be Alexandrov, and Pyrrha would be Alexandrova.

and yes according to the wiki the greek surnames are gender specific
