Post-GI Mixups

Goderator of pink hearts
This is an overview of the most powerful (damage-wise) options each character has post-GI. All listed damage is without tech. Throws are listed for characters who do less than 40 damage and/or if it's part of their game.

Character name
Fast option(s) = free damage/attempt within the 20 frame window if they don't re-GI (damage, notes)
Slow option(s) = free damage if they attempt to re-GI immediately (damage, notes)

What doesn't make sense to me is why would you include a slower GI-whiff option if it does less damage than the fast option? It would be better if you just use the fast option again, except delayed.

^ that is a good point, though if the fast move is really unsafe on block delaying it will be risky in the event you predicted them wrong (algol 66BA is example, much more unsafe than 33B)

One thing I would like to say is that I prefer a strong slow move that is mostly safe to a stronger slow move that is unsafe or high. For example, Zas you have A+K which DOES do the highest damage, so if you are really confident in your prediction this is strongest. However, generally I would rather do 66B+K because if I guess wrong I don't have to worry about it being ducked on reflex and punished hard.

Oof: Funny enough I actually didn't consider that though Tiamat has a point. I'll discuss some finer points like unsafety with people and edit when I reach a decision.

Tiagol: It was all about the damage for this list just to show each character's strength in this area. I'll definitely speak with you on this when I get the chance.

For Voldo:
Fast 6:6B, 66B, 6:6B, 2A+B~236B_K (67?) I thought it was lower, around 54. The damage listed in the Voldo Combo Thread is probably still from 1.0.

Slow [B+K] = (70)

While in Blind Stance Voldo can do:

BS 3B, BS 66K, BS 4B for quite a bit of damage after a GI. It counts as fast since BS 3B is i19.

Then I guess a slow BS post-gi could be BS 22K[K], MCFT 6A+K, MCFT B

I typically go for the BS throw (BS 66G+A)for 65

Paragon: The BS 4B doesn't seem consistent.

Enk: Sweet! I got that for non-BS Voldo. I'm on the right track then.

miko:

awesome list :)

minor correction that i found recently... i thougth 44[A] was the best option for Rock but i think 22B does more damage....

so a mix of 44[A] (RO purpose and maybe more guarantee dmg options?) and 22B for more potential damage are probably the right choices against slow GI

(i was about to make a similar list/options)

Maxi best damage would actually be 9K or 4[B+K] to punish re-GI I believe

course they can actually hit him out of these moves after being GIed cause they are THAT slow (though obviously if they re-GIed they will eat it)

Paragon: The BS 4B doesn't seem consistent.

Hmm, maybe it's character specific? It should always clip their feet but maybe you can tech backwards to escape it. I don't really remember and I don't use it very often.

Alternative after GI in Blind Stance: BS 3B, BS 3B for about 53 damage. This is what I usually use.

Mitsu: slow 66A+B 33B about same damage than MST 6B etc also RLC A MST 6BB last hit doesnt always work.

Cervantes: slow 44A+B ,22B, iGDR 8_2B is around 90

Voldo: A+B definitely works as a fast post GI but I'm not sure about the damage.
Enkindu (I think) has posted that somewhere, off BS JI BS A+B 2A+B CR A+K BS ws B 1K , BS 2B+K MCFT K 108 I think.

That's actually BS B+K on a JI. BS B+K forces an inescapable crumple on CH, turns Voldo forward which then he can do the dummy combo starting with 2A+B which wil reset the stun from BS B+K.

Also, in regards to BS 3B, 66K, 4B. 4B can be teched to either side. Unforunately nothing is guaranteed afterwards.

You also might be able to do BS 44A for a slow GI which will guarantee BS 3B BS 3B, BS 22B for roughly 85 damage. Or you could replace BS 22B with BS 1 and shave off like 5 damage and be at +8.
Though with BS 44A, sometimes it will leave you facing forward depending on how close you were when you hit it. If you are at the closest possible range when you GI, 44A will leave you standing forward which will guarantee A+B, 66B, 6:6B, 2A+B~236B_K. I can't test the damage on this as I don't have a joystick to use and am not able to dothe JF on pad. You could also do 1 here as well instead of 2A+B~236B_K and shave off like 10 damage and be at +8.

LAU-sama: Don't tire yourself with lists oh great one. I'll cover ya.

Belial: Very nice. Didn't know that was free. Pirate 44A+B isn't guaranteed if they re-GI immediately. If it were a bit faster that'd be deadly.

Enk: BS 44A seems character-specific post-GI. It whiffs on Voldo, puts him in normal stance against X, and works fine on Asta.

Contribution following ur thread rules:

Kilik:

iFotDamned: 80-Damage
iFotDead: 50-Damage

Both excellent post GI - iFotDead is just to compliment iFotDamned with a mixup and can cause more pressure depending where ur standing because it rings out left from a respectable distance.

It's a godlike mixup on the Seesaw Stage.

3kB is also good Post GI for Kilik for ringout from the front but I think it's less important because of what your thread is aiming for.

Also u forgot a B for 4A+BBB.

With Mina I'd go for 6B+K over B4B, or 3bK for RO or wallsplat.

For delayed it's a more difficult choice, since all of her shit is slow anyway. 4A+K, 66A+B is good, since you're inside tip range, but if you want to gamble then pogo would do more damage; at GI distance you should be able to hit 9B+KBB or 9B+KB4B, depending on the character. 8A+B, 66A+B, or delayed 3bK for RO.

Agreed. 6B+K is better since it does only a few points less damage and grounds them for wakeups. I only wish her A+B was a frame faster, because then she could fit that in the GI window.

Everything else for people who try to GI back is whatever slow move you feel like using. 4A+K, 2B+K, 8B+K, 44A+B. They all work fine.
