There are only 2 things that are forever (and while I am a HUGE Zappa fan, I would take issue with him on this point; albeit stupidity runs rampant): People, and God's Word. People are forever. People. ...forever. Remember that when you dis your brother. People are forever. :)

there's a guy who has a theory about this, as a philosopher of mind. Douglas Hofstadter's his name. dunno if you're into that kind of stuff, but his book I Am A Strange Loop is his most recent and is somewhat accessible i think.

and Frank Zappa rules. well most of his stuff anyway, lol.

of course, i'm

I'm glad I'm only here 8-5.

Well, I set up my new light box or "Macro Studio" (homemade of course) and took a pic with my cell phone... My Nikon is sitting there with an instruction book, close in thickness to the bible. So, I just wanted some test shots with nice lighting and they actually turned out really decent for the 1 dollar I spent to make it.

Sorry for the quality of the pic but you can see the smooth lighting and 'endless backround' effect.

Cool lizard, Psylo!

Asswipe, I've run into your type on forums before, and the funny thing is this; once I have met them in person they turn out to be: sniveling, small, small minded, live at home, keyboard commandos who actually seem 'afraid' to meet just an average joe like myself in person. Of course, that would not be you ;-) ...but if you would ever like to call me 'bub' in person I will happily give you my address. PM me if you are interested. :) Until then, I'm going to attempt to take the high road and not feed the troll.

Great pick. Brees is the shit.

I picked this one up as a birthday present to me last week. I had to go the "authentic" route (just because), even though $299 for a shirt seems ridiculous. :(

You're damn right he is.

Oh, and when it comes to sports apparel, Authentic is the only way to go... even though I've spent $900 on three jersies, it seems worth it somehow.

Curb your enthusiasm..... why do i find this funny and not Seinfeld? in fact, i hate seinfeld.. but Curb your enthusiasm... is funny. terribly so... i wonder why this is...

Curb your Enthusiasm is HILARIOUS! Seinfeld is almost equally as funny.

I have always loved both, but George Costanza (Jason Alexander) was loosely based on Larry David's real life personality. Many of the things George does in Seinfeld (stealing a tape from a womans answering machine for example) Larry David has done in real life.

So if you watch Sienfeld and compare George to Larry, you can see huge similarities.

Like I said though, I enjoy both immensely.

snip* I need some more hockey in my life.

I can't watch hockey... or soccer. For some reason there is just too much back and forth and scores that just don't impress. I've often wondered if either sport would be more popular if a goal was worth 7 pts.

I dunno, I guess I will always be a typical American when it comes to sports, gimme my football and basketball. If I'm drinking, throw on a baseball game.

American Football doesn't get me excited in any way, really. It's too complicated, and the on and off action drives me nuts. With hockey and soccer, the action is almost nonstop as they battle back and forth. That, and hockey fights are awesome.

Basketball is alright, but I never watch it. To me, baseball is fun to watch when I want to relax or fall asleep on my couch.

See... it is the exact opposite for me. American football is complicated because there are TONS of rules to protect players from getting physically beat down or injured and rules that keep the game fair. The action and suspense is non-stop. All the while, they are scoring or trying to keep the other team from scoring by hitting each other as hard as they can.

Hockey and Soccer on the other hand, is a constant... Kick the ball down the field/Slap the puck across the ice, Oh shit, the other team got it, oh there... they got it back, oh shit... someone got it on the other team again, repeat for an hour... is someone going to score?

To each his own, Hockey and Soccer are definitely popular, but American football is, IMO, the most action packed sport out there.

i dunno man, the action in american football is anything but non-stop. at least compared to hockey, where things only stop when something goes wrong or the period ends (basketball takes the cake here). i do appreciate the suspense and the offensive/defensive lines, though, but no sport is without suspense in some way or another.

hockey is the far more dangerous sport-- with the speeds they achieve, collisions can be fatal, or worse. not to mention the knives on their feet.

baseball is a game about zen. i used to hate it, but with this quasi-understanding, i now find it pretty interesting.

anyone like curling? lol. i do.

Good post. I tried to explain to my GF while she, her 12 year old son, and I sat at the Hawks game Saturday night. The boy is in football and loves it. Now he wants to play hockey but mom is hesitant. I said "football players get more broken bones, but hockey players have more scars on their face, missing teeth, and run the risk of a slit throat O_o. Anybody remember Clint Malarchuk?
