rdmunhoz - CAS gallery

Your Knights hit a real chord with us .... we have been playing around recently with CAS based on these collectable Knight figurines (from our childhood). So, it is cool seeing someone else on a similar kick. Your designs have a simplicity that is very direct and iconic...
I also appreciate that they are historical regional characters that I want to see fight. We started making only people who would make sense with a sword or weapon.... and have been getting further and further from that point ever since... So what kind of weapon should Scooby have? :)
anyway...
cool stuff....

these are the toys if you are interested:

Hey , do a mongolian one!
If you want some inspiration you could take a look at J.Carn from World Heroes
Jcarn-worldheroes.jpg

I googled for some time and found some nice names...
Möngke - means "eternal"
Altan - means gold
Gantulga - steel heart
Ganzorig - courage of steel
Temür - iron
Berke - hardness
Baturmongke, Buyan, Esen, Toytoya, Manduul - name of old Mongolia emperors

Do you like anyone of them?

yes... i will create Gantulga
a Mongolian warrior who values must have a good arrow and bow. It means I will only one more item to customize, but I will give a way

Most impressive. I thank thee for providing ideas for Pocky Yoshi. Struggling on trying to make some stuff for my own CAS, but just couldn't pull it off like you or a few others.

every time i see a cas gallery that is just lightyears beyond my abilities (just about every gallery on here), i die a little inside... and i get inspired!! You should make an ancient chinese warrior a la Romance of the Three Kingdoms. Lu BUUUUUUU!!!!

thank you guys... I think thats the intention... inspires each other

and d_b... I will put this chinese creation in the line

Here's a rundown on my favorite parts of your collection so far:

Batman
- Use of buttoned pocket sticker gives a smooth, leathery look appropriate for Batman's costume.
- Good call on using the helmet ornament to recreate his gloves.

Curse
-DEM BLOOD STAINS

Malik Abdala
- Ornate patterning on the turtle shell makes an excellent African-style shield.

Ramses
- A unique concept executed very well. I don't think you'll see a lot of Egyptian mummy CaS out there.

Filipe
- The shield behind the quiver is an awesome aesthetic touch.

Hassan
- I like seeing off-hand weapons on CaS. His katar is no exception.

Giant Sean
- Excellent sticker work and patterning on leather vest. Lends to the Irish theme.
- I like when CaS parts are put to practical purpose. I'd love to see the bull horns in action during his 66K.
- The bull horns are actually a bull's horns on the back! Sweet!

Ballesteros
- You made a Chinese robe work on a Spanish-themed design. Genius.
- The sheath works, but wouldn't it be on his other side? Raph's style is left-handed. Sheathes are usually on the non-dominant hand's side.
- Is it possible to give the sheath a more oval shape along its cross-section? it'll make it look like it's supposed to fit the blade.

Silver Wolf
- Those pants work SO well for Native American-themed designs.
- Off-hand reverse-gripped dagger + Devil Jin style = badass

Besides your patterning and sticker work and craftwork with the special equipment, what I appreciate most about your designs is that, in most cases, they really bring out the traditions of the characters' backgrounds. You can look at them and get a general feel for where they come from. That's what the Soul series' character designs have always been about, bringing all these different warrior traditions from across the world together in a fight. I'll be looking forward to seeing more of your work.
