Recover Crouching Cancel

OK- if I read it correctly...

Whenever you do a move that recovers in crouching position (say, general 2A), you can press either 4 or 6 near the recovery of the move to cancel your crouching status and do moves from neutral/standing position. Correct?

If you dash backwards/forwards out of crouch, you're doing it wrong, right?

Can RCC be used against moves that force crouch as well?

Does RCC add any frames to the standing moves afterward? i.e., would it take longer to 2A, RCC AA compared to 2A, wrA?

Ultimately, you're taking approx 1-2 frames (if you're quick) to use forward/backward movement to stand your character up. It's not some glitch or technically programmed technique; you can't even buffer it past SC's slight movement buffer (if you know how to do Raph's ring out I posted, you'll know how strict that is).

All you're doing is going back to neutral (read: recover completely frame-wise) and tapping 4/6 to stand yourself up - since walking is a standing method. In fact, you can tap any direction.

I usually find this easiest to do by double tapping 2 or 8 as my move is ending. For example, I'll do a fair amount of on-hit 2A, 66, 3 with Raph.

To directly answer your speed question, technically standing up is going to cost you frames; but as I started this post with, only a couple if you're quick - and anyone can learn to be quick. It's the general assumption it's going to take 1 frame to actually stand and 1 for your input, at best.

To be precise. Tapping 6_4 (some other directions work btw) from crouch will cancel your crouch into A SINGLE step in that direction. So, if you get a dash, u're not doing it wrong, it's supposed to happen. The key is to cancel that very step in it's initial frame into the attack that u want.

You RCC to get neutral attacks eg A+B, and 1/2/3 attacks. 4/5/6/7/8/9 attacks can all be done from crouch. 8WR attacks in any direction can be done from crouch (even 22 types). 236 and 214 attacks are also possible.

RCC takes a frame or 2 so it is never as fast as seamless as a WS attack...but...WS attacks are usually i14 and slower so it's quite useful. Stuff like 2A RCC AA with any fastish character is an uninterruptable string.

Force crouch is problematic where RCC is concerned.
