SC:BD Explained!

It is possible that Namco made every characters in SCBD to be broken like SC1. Then all characters are broken = SCBD is balance. lol.........

I got wind that the armor break is now stacking, no longer just something that works on the hit area for a minor increase of damage. if this is true, it could introduce a new mechanic as in SC4 it is almost completely ignored. But if the damage stacks high enough it may be a valid strategy to actually pick off armor to make the final rounds even easier. This will be interesting to characters that maybe focus on attacking one level most often versus those that use many mix ups of different levels.
 
I think in reality since this game is extremely close to being a carbon copy of SC4 it won't take that long to figure out. If this was SC5 it'd be a different story.

I guess there is a possibility that someone will discover things no else sees down the line but seeing as it is so very close to SC4 it's doubtful.

BUT I don't think giving up on the game is the best idea either. Who knows maybe people will just have to develop keep out tactics to prevent Hilde from abusing C2A. Alithough the GI thing is pretty bad.

This is enlightening. Looks like as time goes by, more and more people will find +100 damage combos on all characters in BD. This is Soul Calibur one level damage, matches will end in a flash.
 
4. The GI window of oppurtunity is now 23 or more frames. So Setsuka's i23-Frames B+K will now work. As a result Hilde will now be even more broken with C3B being guaranteed outside of re-GI mind games.

every character in sc1 was broken silentwall? I never really played the game, never heard that before tho.

To me hilde was always intentionally broken.
Everyonce in awhile we all get that feeling, you know, buying a ticket to Japan, going to Namco HQ, and walking up to the heads over their and throwing their game on the ground and giving them the finger.
 
Sorry S-U this is nonsense. Even with major damage buff, it is not instant win. I can still take risks, I can calculate risks and play by math, even when its unfavorable. With old Hilde that was not possible. Overwhelming damage is overpowering, but not broken. Instant wins, especially random instant wins are what was horrible about her, if she needs to hit me at least twice now, this is great. This is a definite nerf in my eyes, although I understand what you are saying.

Sums up pretty much exactly how I feel lol. And to think, people were telling everyone to stop whining about the bitch when she could kill you in ONE hit.

And Manta I totally forgot about you and Alex getting the game so early lol. These things take time, it took a while to figure out the nuts and bolts of doom combo and Hilde as a whole. It's SO early, and we don't even know where BD will lead, PSP tournies seem like they'd be really hard to organize. People that know me will laugh at me saying this, but I think we all just need to relax a little lol.
 
Alright, Voldo better be even more broken or something. I really hate all these characters getting tons of buffs, and Voldo just gets his cool stuff taken away. THEY REMOVED THE VOLDOZER, MAN! Namdai didn't need to do that. So far the only "buffs" Voldo has are B+K doing 45 damage(Hello new BB if it's still i16), and BCR A giving crumple stun, which is sort of cool I guess. If the changes come to console i'm REALLY going to miss his SCC.

EDIT: Okay, I HOPE Voldo turns out to be more broken.

I think this is a great point. The whole issue with Hilde was that one fuck up meant game, and now even though it's still risky, you have the option to get up and try again. This was the whole reason Hilde was broken. We'll see how the damage plays out, it does look scary, but understanding we can now play Hilde like a normal character and not play super paranoid is a welcome addition.

I know we got separate forums, but think you could form a quick note chart of each character? Something simple like just stating if the character was either buffed, nerfed, or mix. Maybe outline 1 or 2 key points to get the idea across.
