SCV Tokyo Game Show/GAMEfest Video Archive

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this the ONLY video where one player didn't win a single round? I sure hope Namco takes that into consideration with her style.. >.>

you cant base your assumption on how bad tira is over this video. the player didnt show case all of tira's moves. neither did he/she use her BEs or CE. unlike the other player who did. the rounds ended up pretty close anyway. just let namco do their thing.

oh and

Pyrrha VS Ivy

That's true, but from the looks of it, Tira STILL won't have any good combos.. >.<

Tago-san mentioned (with Kayane) that they are working on Tira now; and if you had any request for Tira changes, TELL ODASHIMA-SAN ON HIS TWITTER. :) I'd do it now, if I were you.

This TGS build of her is probably pure SC4 Tira with CE

I saw two new moves. The rest were all SC4. I've been requesting things, but I really don't think anything I could say would make a difference.

Man, you never know until you try. You know you'll be one of many voices, but c'mon, don't be a pessimist...

Tago-san (in his interview with Kayane) encouraged MULTIPLE TIMES for fans to tweet Odashima-san about Tira. How many times will you hear the Producer in charge of a multi-million dollar game project belonging to one the world's largest and most successful entertainment companies go out of his way to ask the fans for input on said project?

Seriously, if it's that important to you, you can't spend 1-2 minutes to send a tweet? And give it time...it's not like they are going to just pop out all of her changes without testing it, so it might be another few weeks before you see differences

man, I just can't stop watching that TGS trailer :D The more I read into it, the more I get excited -- not only am I a tournament player, but I also really love the art, music, story of Soul Calibur. Especially the story and art; I used to spend HOURS in the SC1 museum running through concept art and listening to the music. Stuff like that's actually what hooked me to the series in the first place back in SC1, and that's never really changed

Reading into the narrator's carefully chosen quips:

-'Heir to the title of 'Holy Warrior...'':
I had first thought that Patroklos was destined to be a 'tragic hero' and turn bad by becoming the new wielder of the Soul Edge. But this quote makes me think that he is going to replace his mother as the greek god's chosen warrior (who hears all those voices, like a schizo, and constantly gets dragged against his will in battles to destroy the soul edge). And of course, part of that likely means destroying his very own mother (or what's left of her :/). I say that, because of the first trailer, where Pat says 'Goodbye, Mother....', while slicing an embedded background image of the Soul Edge.

-'She who fights destiny...'
I'm convinced that Sophie is the new Nightmare. That said, much like Siegfried when he was possessed with SE, and morphed into Nightmare, NMSophie probably can't cope with the overbearing influence of the SE. That makes me wonder how Pyrrah fits into all this. Well, since it's already said (by Odashima-san) that Pat and Pyrrah never met before the game (that is, since Pyrrah was first kidnapped), it's pretty plain to me that Pyrrah was actually raised by her mother, more or less. Her weapons and fighting style pretty much confirms this in my eyes. Pyrrah probably lived with a warped sense of family, where mutated NMSoph is 'mom', NMSoph's psychotic, bi-polar henchman Tira is 'big sis', and Pyrrah is like a Cinderella. Given her naturally innocent personality, she probably has to choose the horrible choice of ignoring the consequences of her 'mother's' actions, and standing against her own lost brother and kill him, or destroy the only family she's ever known to keep the evil for destroying others. That sucks for her.....:/

I'm very excited for the Project Soul team, as with all the stuff they are planning, they are on their way to having SC5 get perfect 10's from gaming sites and magazines. I just hope that the sales of SC5 match; but they are definitely on the right path, if you ask me...

I....uhhhhh.....WHAT?????

They have completly change 75% of maxi's move list, he is faster, stronger and has a lot of his better and stronger moves back. How is it you can come to that conclusion without even playing the game.

Your statement is full of ignorance!!

HRD

well i ve just watched maxi's movelist provided by oosaka, the changes made are quite impressive indeed , my apologies; there is plenty of material to work with , keep up the good work namco !
