[Seattle, WA] Ragin' in the Rain

Hey guys! Sorry for being a bit depressed this night -- Getting the living crap beat of me to learn valuable lessons take their toll eventually! I think I won like... 5 matches out of well over 50+, and tournament itself I felt like I simply got slaughtered...

I want to thank everyone that I did meet (and fight!), even though I forgot everyone's name already! *laughs* I'll take the lessons to heart and try to practice hard so one day I can beat everyone, and be the best lizard out there, haha! With other characters on the side, of course.

Cam, I need your number sometime, so I can arrange a carpool with you for events. I can pay for gas and such, but just being able to get to places in less cars make me happy.

Great Games tonight! I had a lot of fun. Hopefully if this does turn into a regularly monthly we can get more people out. I wanna thank you all personally in helping me really distract myself during this rough time with my family back home. Hopefully I can get down there, take care of things, and get back up here to keep this scene going strong. What with what we were talking about tonight as far as combining all these venues and their group of loyal people, we can have this scene going maybe 30-40 strong one of these days. Either way, I'll post up as soon as I figure out what I'm gonna have to do this week and let y'all know whether we'll be at Gameclucks Thursday or holding that session on Friday. I'll holla!

Good shit tonight guys, thanks for coming out to the venue. Sorry it was so hard for some of your guys to find!

Congrats to Cam for taking 1st, John for 2nd, and Sean for 3rd!

If you haven't heard, I'm most likely going to be turning this woodinville tourny into a monthly(Or Bi-weekly, whatever the community wants). It will probably take place on a Sunday again sometime next month, I'll let you know when the time comes. Most likely will be $10 entry fee, also I'm considering going to a round robin format if we have a similar number of people (under 12, really). Thoughts?

As far as combining venues with a point/rank system, I think it's a great idea. All it needs is for some people to take initiative to combine the events and work out how exactly the ranking system will work. If anybody has ideas or wants to talk to me more about it, feel free to pm me or the other TOs.

One of these days I'll make it out to one of these tournaments... Though going all the way to Woodinville is tough since I'm all the way down in Tacoma. I do though Tekken (and now SCV) sessions on a regular basis down here. Is there anyone interested in coming?

As for the point/rank system, we've been trying something on the Tekken side of things and we've discovered that if its left up to one person to update, its likely they'll get busy at some point and stop updating... and that kinda kills the whole thing.

Are there monthly events down there? I can't speak for everyone, but I think people might be able to carpool down every so often.

I think a majority of us will probably also be at SRB this Saturday in Seattle, which is probably the biggest monthly fighting game event we have.

Thomas, I sent you my contact info for future carpooling.

Oh yeah, I forgot about SRB... I'll have to make sure I go to that...

But I do my sessions pretty much every week on a Wednesday, Thursday or Friday... depending on what's going on that week. This week I'll be doing it on Thursday.

Mad respect to anyone who can stick with Aeon. I want to get better with him but I just can't get used to his shit. His combos do look pretty beastly though.

Sorry I couldn't be there on Sunday, sometimes my weekends are just as full as my weekdays.

Partial Results from Feb 16 TNF @ Dante's (9 Entrants)
1. howiplaythisgame (Maxi)
2. Cam (Algol)
3. greatone1939 (Mitsu)
4. Super Joe (Yoshi)

Full results and more can be found in the Tournament Aftermath thread. Sorry, no replays were captured from this event.

I stumbled upon Will's program while looking for some more Tio documentation. I also have all the tio files for GameClucks events. If I can get help identifying people from the Gamebreakerz release (PM me!) and the brackets from Cheesy Fights and Woodinvile, we'd have a complete ranking list. As for not having it be reliant on one person, here's a folder with what I have.

(Also this feels mad weird to say considering how new I am to the scene compared to him, but just so people know, Evan is super legit, if you're nearby go there!)

Wow, Thursdays are busy... I might need to head North to one of these other events sometime... it doesn't sound like there's too much interest in coming down to Tacoma (or any other Tacoma players)

Hey Colton! I'm actually new to the Soul Calibur scene... I've never played it competitively before... so if you want a chance to beat me at a a game, now's your chance! Lol

Hey Tommy, was looking around and found this video that may help you out a little more with that Lizardman/Aeon:

Here's another vid that I think is a little more complete for Aeon. Also, apparently Aeon's 3K is a good setup for his command throw according to the vid author?
!

Details for tomorrow's Thursday @ GameClucks have been updated. Doors will open at 3pm, registration ends at 7:15pm, and the tournament will start at 7:30pm. Please let me know if you will be late. The entry fee has been raised slightly to $5 to provide a larger pot. We will also be announcing details for the upcoming GameClucks FG League all building up to a larger event a few months from now. Last thing, we need PS3s for tomorrow! Let me know if you can provide.
