Soul Calibur 5 World Tourney results

Yeah, I can't believe Akire beat Keev. I already know (and most of us do) that Mitsurugi is higher tier than Nightmare, but I thought Keev would still win. OmegaDR beating Keev with Sieg was amazing. I thought he'd lose, but he pulled out. Historic matchup right there with Akire and OmegaDR. Great matches from that final.

Biggest surprise was how all the Japanese lost in their first sets in the losers bracket. I thought they would do better or up to par with the French. I was wrong. I researched about it from the comments online and many people think that Japanese SCV players are the best in the world. I'm not sure that's true at all after seeing these matches. 7k for the 1st, 2k for 2nd, and 1k for 3rd. That's enough incentive to come if you are really that good in Japan.

RTD surprised me at how good he was with Mitsurugi, though I already knew he was good. Nofacekiller was good as well. They all really deserved to be there.

However, you could see differences in the levels between the countries.

1) France

2) USA

3) Japan

OmegaDR is just an anomaly. He's on a whole 'nother level. I don't even know how he is so good at the game, considering the scene. It's not like the Dominican Republic is a SCV fest is it? I think Keev is on par with the anticipation and he might have been having a worse time because of jetlag.

I don't play Nightmare. He's too slow for me. Also, I hate playing characters like that which include Astaroth and Sieg.

I think Mitsu is higher tier than Nightmare. Sieg is also lower tier than Mitsu and lower tier than Nightmare. I think Alpha is definitely higher tier than Nightmare too, but that's a given. Alpha will do well in all matchups.
 
All the matches were exciting to watch. Especially Omega vs Keev with their characters Sig and Night. I couldn't take my eyes from my computer screen.
Congratulations Omega! You will always be my favorite tournament player and your skillz are out of this world! (^.^<)

You're blowing this out of proportion. You were the one who didn't bother congratulating them.

Anyways, I would've liked for TeamSpooky or the MCs to interview them (OmegaDR, Akire, Keev). That would've been nice. It was good how OmegaDR told them that he misses the black man. Haha, I did not expect that even if I knew he played that character. A bittersweet victory for France, but a victory nonetheless (2nd and 3rd and dominating the tournament for the most part).

Victory for France? There's no victory in second place.

Congratulations Omega; You were a top pick of mine to take the tournament. Your preformance showed everything a top competitor needs. God given yomi, incredible movement, disgusting mind games, you won this tournament not Nightmare/Siegfried.

Also, Shout out to NFK's performance. You took out the Legend, RTD. Way to fucking put us, the WC, on the map. They were sleeping on us, and you set that alarm up. Good showing.

Great tournament, glad to see Daishi steppin' it up and supporting the community. Overall, excellent games. Wish I was there.

Who's going to take the crown away from Omega?
 
Congrats to the top 3. My heart literally leapt out when Omega VS Akire came around...so hyped! i seriously thought Akire could pull off a complete comeback, but oh well XD

I expected great things from the man who beat me at NCR. Good job man, look forward to watching the matches.
