Now that we know the game is taking place in the past, I don't know about you but I am hoping to see more of that harsh Ivy of old, and not that grandma they had in mind for her in SCV ("didn't expect it to be that mouthy boy")

Yup! Lol you remembered my username when I literally didn't. Hah! Good times.

Actually, I googled your PSN name, THEN remembered lol.

On the topic of our favorite Soul Calibur titles, mine are:

SCIII - really rich single player experience, good mechanics in spite of glitches and bugs
SCII - nostalgia
SCIV - like @Darkmoonlight said this is the SC game when I learned the more complex parts of the game. I also put it in so many hours in CaS and player matches online even though the netcode was absolute shit.

Since we're on this topic, gonna say that SC3 is the best in series thanks to the single-player experience it offers but is hampered by the save file bug that killed my PS2 memory card. SC4 has the best roster of course but I absolutely love SC5 due to the character creation despite the bad roster.

My faves are

SCII - first one i played when i was a tiny foetus child, fell in love with Taki Cassandra and Talim. Single player content was soooooo good.

SCV - character creation was awesome, music and stages were stellar, I liked Pyrrha and her backstory, Tira was less annoying and more badass. Wish there was more content but the online mode was superb and I met some really nice people when competing.

SCIV - introduced Hilde my babyyy also Talim looked so good in this game. All my faves are in it but some of their faces were really bad like Cassie & Taki's. Finally decided I liked Sophitia. The movelists were also extremely good and I learned a lot from it. Didn't like a lot of the stages though, too much focus on the area around Algol's tower.

You sound like a talim stan welcome to the dark side

It's hard for me to make a top cause some games were better in some areas and vice versa, but i'll try, so personally:

- SC2: First SC game (played before a bit Soul Edge), Nostalgia, my most played SC game offline, Best art design with SC3(maybe sc3 is a bit better), best ost with sc3, and OF COURSE WIFE Ivy: favorite female character of all time, not matched to this day, and will ever be matched, and favorite gameplay as well. (After Nina Williams, Jill Valentine and Lara Croft, i never though it was possible, but Ivy is perfection, nothing can ever match this woman.)

So that remind me yo: Need more stances for Ivy for SC6.

- SC3: Perfect in most areas, at first i was really disappointed about Ivy that go 2 stances removed, but i lived with it and she was still super great to play. The overall gameplay was less fun than 2 but still good, a lot of bugs and the memory save crash hurted that game unfortunately. But i still put it at second cause of amazing roster, great character designs, and some of the best stages with best soundtracks.

- SC5: Great gameplay, great online, probably the most played SC game overall, maybe even more than 2 (thanks to the good online), Ivy was fun to play, and great to see her design back to the norm after 4 (still not perfect but.). Great OST as well, great graphics, stages and characters models were good for the most, there are some cons tho, especially in term of the roster.

- SC4: My least favorite, game too slow, didn't like much Ivy design and even gameplay (well at least that's how i felt about gameplay, but tbh, game was so slow and boring to play so i didn't spent a lot of time with it as well, maybe i would appreciate if more if the base game system pace was good), and the game was laggy in PS3, i felt like SW characters overshadowed the game overall (or maybe it's just me, but that how i felt), i liked Vador playstyle tho. But there were some great stages and ost, but overall the game was quite disappointing, especially after 2 and (buggy)3 that were amazing!! i think slow pace would be the main reason that SC is my least favorite.

Special mention:

- Soul Edge: I didn't have a console, my brother lent a playstation from friend someday and one of the games was Soul Edge, we played a lot with my brothers and sister, my favorite character was Li Long because he was just too sick with the Nunchucks (and the fact that i'm a huge Bruce Lee fan helped a lot, and Maxi was as well my secondo in SC2 BTW)

- Soul Calibur: Never get to play it, just saw the intro in TV (gameone for those familiar), and it looked just too sick, and the second i see Ivy i knew we were set to spent our life together to eternity <3 . I couldn't afford the console at the time, too young, too poor and too busy with studies stuffs, then few years later i finally got to play SC2 when i got PS2.

It was until like 2010 or 11, when SC1 was release in remaster in Xbox 360 that i got to try it, of course it was really a great game, and i felt it was too good for its time, but SC2 and 3 were way better and more advance. But SC1 still to this day has a very strong aura and atmosphere imo. I was surprise on how much Ivy had very few moves in this game, and i was like: "There is no way it's all what she have in this game", then..... "You people at namco really gave her a bunch of new stuffs in SC2 wow lmao". Also i really like the version of Sieg in this game, so that's why i'm actually as well very excited for Young Sieg in SC6!!

Only request I have is to bring back shakeable stuns. Im happy with whatever else they decide to do.
Is there a reason you want them back? I feel like they don't really add anything since a decent player will just shake them immediately lol sure you can say that it leads to a mixup if they shake it, but at that point why not just give the move advantage instead of a fake stun?

Someone send me a gun please so i can shot this guy:

Can't believe there are people asking about an Arcade release OMMMMGGGGGGG!!!

Late to the party but i saw people mention Tekken launched with 36 characters.

In a twist of fate, if you go by March 2015 launch in the arcade, it actually launched with 20 characters :^) Anything else was either added to the arcades later or the home console release years later. That said, i wouldn't be happy with 20 characters either, but using Tekken7:FR as a reference point isn't a great idea.
