Soul Calibur 6 Discussion

I really, REALLY, hope that if they do decide to bring back Natsu, Alpha Patroklos, and other replacements, they make the secondary costume their OG character
You mean like Injustice 2's Premier skins? Well, you should know that Natsu had her profile deleted from the official site, which means she is likely no longer canon. Also, I doubt α Patroklos would come. Patroklos himself is hated enough (for good reason), but his "base form" is more unique, despite being a sword and shield user, so, if he is added, its unlikely to be the α version.

If Kilik has reverted back to the staff, wonder what that means for Xiba (and the SCV newcomers in general). We'll see soon enough.

I'd be surprise if Xiba will came back, and i really hope they won't give him property over some other characters that have unique staffs and moveset (Setsuka, Talim, Zasalamel and cie). Not that i hate the character, but uniqueness > Sameness all the way

Natsu as premiere skin for Taki, doesn't seem too bad.

Beside one of my biggest wish for SC6 really is that they'll get ride of CaS, or at least CaS won't be used in Rank mode/or you can disable so you'll just see and fight the original character and not some weebo made character, i was just watching this Maximilian video and it remind me how this stuffs in very infectious @6:48

I don't know nor heard anything regarding Xiba on VI yet, but I have felt since they first announced him back on V that they just plain did him wrong.
If they did want to bring him back, it's not THAT hard to approach him differently and how they should have in the first place.
He should have inherited Hualin's Rod moveset from Soul Calibur III with tweaks. Like his original moves sprinkled in throughout.
That way it plays up the Monkey King thing better, and can his stand on his own and be different than Kilik (and Seong Mi-Na).

That reminds me, I really want to see Olcadan again. Either as a mimic, or maybe with some kind of hand-to-hand style. I need that goofy, cocky, owl-headed ass-kicker.

HOOOO!

I gotta admit that after watching Max's vid and hearing that he's heard a lot of these leaks too, I'm starting to believe.

I'm going to cry really hard on the 15th. The question is if they'll be tears of joy or of pain.

SC3 CG artworks are so great, and really aged well with the time. Could stand easily with CG portraits of nowadays games.
Certainly. SCIII and T4 had beautiful CG renders.

I want to touch back on the the multiple styles per char thing. Rather than the pick a char and then pick one of, let's say three variants a la MK or MvCI Gems, was it something like this:

Pick your character
Pick a weapon
They have that moveset influenced by their own personal touches?

Like changing weapons in a Soulsbourne game?

i.e. The longsword has a completely different moveset than the great sword, and Astaroth with a longsword has different variations on the moveset than Hilde with the longsword?

If so, that seems super complicated and I can see them abandoning it.

If not, then pay me no mind, because it's 4:16am on a workday and I need to get a more regular sleep schedule.

Coming back to 8wayrun and reading all these posts had me reminiscing of a time when I actively played the Soul series. Even though there is still a chance that SoulCalibur VI may not even exist, the thought of it being a possibility pushed me to go back and not only play Soul Edge again, but to purchase SoulCalibur on Xbox Live and repurchase a Playstation 2 so I can replay SoulCalibur 3.

I still have a bunch of people on my friends list on the Playstation Network that I have hesitated to delete despite not remembering who they were simply because there is a chance that I previously knew them from playing SoulCalibur IV or V.

I want to believe that when SoulCalibur VI... if SoulCalibur VI gets released, I will see a bunch of those people playing it and suddenly, we will remember, and it will be like old friends reuniting.

Sorry. This franchise gets me all worked up hahaha. Anyway, expect to see me post speculations and thoughts along with the rest of you. As you guys know, the legend (and this discussion) will never die.

My understanding was moreover two to three (the Passion Republic pictures showed three, so we'll just go with that being most likely) styles/movesets for each character akin to MKX.
Some characters would utilize the same weapon in different ways and such.
While some would have totally different weapons they would even use.
The idea was something characters could change in real time during battle too from what I've gathered.
Both of those combined add up with what they did with the new guy with the dual blade he can fight with separately as two swords or together like Darth Maul and Cao Pi. So the only thing is that he doesn't have a third "option," but the idea is otherwise fully retained in him.

This sounds like the the 3D MK games. Y'all remember how in match you could switch between three stances/styles and could even link things together between all the stances?

Question for leakers (this is a serious question):

Is there a planned roster size? Or an aim?

Same question !

Thats pretty much all i want from 6 to begin with . A couple new characters, reworked movesets, new outfits for old characters. Done.
And a mix of old and new gameplay. Dont want it to be like 5 but i dont want it to be like 2 either.

Same opinion , but with big content , stages, weapons, weather choice, Team Battle mode, impressive new throws , great costume for Voldo, Astaroth Yoshimitsu and Cassandra .
I saw "Justice League" yesterday, not my type of movie, but Wonder Woman looked like an Alexandra sister there with her sword and shield fighting style aha
