SoulCast #30: The SoRedCast

Welcome to the Dark Side... or something like that.

I hope everyone enjoyed watching and/or participating at EVO, and of course congratulations to Kinetic, but it's time to get back to the strats! For this episode, I brought on an all-too familiar voice, the Canadian himself, Partisan, to chat a little Pyrrha V2.0. Not a lot of Omega players out there, so hopefully this helps those aspiring. Or, maybe you just want a little insider knowledge to better be able to beat her. Whatever your flavor, we got it. Enjoy!

Great stuff, really informative. And cheers for the shoutout, haha. But stop telling people about about the stab wall combo glitch! :P (I think it's basically due to the fact that you're not allowed the same stun more than once in a wall combo)

You talked about how 3B is useful for oki in that it tracks to the opposite side to 66B. I'd also recommend using 3A+B (or 66_33_99A+B) to track to that side. Less damage, but a much nicer situation if they get up and block it.

Oh and you mentioned how 3A+B is a go-to TC for ROs and 4AB will kill step for the RO. There's also DNS A into stab, which will both TC and kill step, plus it's a bit safer than 4AB.

Thanks again for having me on, Xiang! And thanks to everybody who listened. Hope you learned something or enjoyed it otherwise.

Yeah, I did forget to mention both of those things. Thanks for the looking out! Take note of these things too, everyone :P

If anybody has any questions or would like me to clarify or build on anything I mentioned in this podcast, please feel free to ask!

Very nice podcast!

One question: Did you mention 236A? I can't remember every word, but maybe I just forgot you talked about that move.

I think he mentioned it but said it was a little on the slow side. IIRC, when he talked about it he was also talking about better options, so it might have gotten a gloss-over, so to speak.

I think I at least mentioned it in one regard but didn't go over it entirely >_>

I guess I can list what I think of the move here!

NS A/DNS A:
- Very good TC move + reliable step killer at close to mid range
- Gives good damage on hit (236:B4, CE, 66B to follow up).
- Risk reward very good against characters who can't punish -16 (especially at top range).
- Very good duck punish if you are consistent on 236:B or have CE stocked.
- NS A is easier to combo into compared to DNS A because of less pushout on hit from NS A. (especially if it hits while opponent it moving).
- NS A does 16 dmg, DNS A does 26.

Thanks for sharing your knowledge ! Even though, I need to work quite hard to listen to your speakings more than training Pyrrha Omega. hihi

Nice work !
I'm glad to have heard your opinion. It conforts me how I see Pyrrha Omega :

I'm think I'm not that wrong how I see Pyrrha Omega, as a character who has to be played in middle range, changing defensive gameplay at mid range for spacing and whiffpunishing to offensive gameplay at close range to poke and GB.
