There are certainly plenty of great Calibur players in Philadelphia. But if you're a South Jersey resident, let us know who you are!

Just looking for some South Jersey peeps here in the area. We can arrange some nice gatherings here in the Atlantic County area if we gather enough interest. We've got two very cool gaming places where we can arrange gatherings, and hopefully a few tournaments down the line.

Right now there's only a few of us here who are hardcore into Calibur, but we are very competitive-minded and very serious about the game. We've got a lot of Marvel and SSF4AE players around here, but a lot of them have expressed interest in learning the game. Hopefully we'll get a bigger Calibur scene around here. b

New south jersey soul calibur player. I currently live in sicklerville.

I could never find a way to get to nerd palace using new jersey transit, but I try to make it out to red fusion for the gatherings they have on Thursdays. Going to try and make it out this Thursday for some pre-winterbrawl practice.
 
I'm gonna make sure people will actually be there at RedFusion and I will let you know.

I probably won't be there until about 10pm, but they usually close closer to midnight.

EDIT: There's gonna be marvel tournament that night, but we usually have a calibur station or two set-up on PS3. I'll give you times that calibur people will be there, since I don't want you to make that drive and find no one there. But if you're interested in Marvel, the tournament usually starts around 8pm (and it's on Xbox!)
 
Franklinville resident reporting in. For a long time I thought that it was just me and my brother-in-law that played Soul, nice to know I was wrong. DEAD WRONG.

We usually play on Mondays and Thursdays in dark little corners while the rest of the room plays UMVC3. We'll keep in touch Chris, thanks for posting

I want to build up enough interest so that we can convince the people at Nerd Palace and Red Fusion that we can have a serious Calibur scene here in South Jersey. Marvel is the big game around here, but a lot of those players have shown serious interest in Calibur. If we have an event / tournament around here, we can convince Philly to help support us too, as they have a nice competitive crew.

I'll PM you the info. Our boy Leroy will post details about the turnout. Since you're making a 45 minute drive, I would like to make sure we have enough people to keep you from being bored ^^;; At this moment I'm not sure if many people will be there tonight

Worst case...if you play Marvel, there'll be a Marvel tourney!

Contacting some people right now just to get a rough estimate for Calibur. No Calibur tournament tonight, just casuals. There will be a Marvel tournament going on but I'm gonna get in contact with the owner of the place to make sure he's cool with us setting up shop there.

EDIT: Omega, Eckswhyzee, akm and myself will be there for the Calibur. I have a PS3 and monitor, I just need someone to bring a copy of the game ;[

Sorry guys, don't think we can get a session tonight.

There's gonna be an official Calibur even there on March 10th. Although they're calling it a side event...we'll show them, lol

Anyway, enough of that...

I wouldn't call myself new to Calibur or fighting games in general, in fact I've been playing since I was about 4-6 yrs old. However, my interest in the competitive parts of the FGC has only recently bloomed. Because of this, I'm taking the approach of learning as a beginner, while using my solid grasp of basics to hopefully help further my skill. I'm always down for a match if I'm on, but it's the "getting on" that's the problem lol. Dorm connection blows a big one. A chance to practice offline would be a great experience...the only real competition I get from my circle of friends is my one friend who literally plays nothing but fighting games. MvC, SF, BB, GG, SC...the works. Besides that, none of my other friends take fighters too seriously so learning what I'm doing wrong is a problem. My PSN is Worlds8thWonder. Shoot me an invite and I'll try to accept it ASAP. I'll keep an eye on this thread to learn about some local events and I hope to see you guys there, RedFusion isn't too far from me. Sorry if I'm rambling lol, must be all the excitement and hype from knowing there are players not to far from me. :D

The name's Evan by the way...nice to meet you guys, and I'm looking forward to the Clash Tournament at RF on 3/10. I'll definitely try to work it into my schedule. I'll see how school is going.
