The AMAZING SC5 Online General Discussion Thread

A general discussion time!

In people's experience, is the lag worse on PSN or Xbox? Because roughly when I play on Xbox in 5 bars then switch to Arcade mode, I notice little to no down time, but my friend said PSN online often disconnects opponents quite frequently. I have not had any random disconnects on Xbox for about 1 month or more now. (Excluding of course if someone's dashboards I mean.)

In my experience, PSN hands out disconnects like crazy. XBL, on the other hand, replaces a would-be disconnect with temporary input lag. I also feel like a 3-bar or less connection is much laggier on XBL than on PSN, albeit with much less disconnects.

Everyone was wrong about spamming. It doesn't mean using the same moves repeatedly; it means that said moves managed to hit. I was just going against a random Mitsurugi CaS on round 1 and I punished some B attack (I can't remember what) with Pyrrha O's DNS B:4. This clown suddenly throws me and then quits the match at the end of the animation. When we reach the lobby, he calls me a "spamming *****" (which I assumed meant "bitch"). The DNS B:4 was the ONLY attack I did and I only used it once; are successful hard-hitting moves automatic spamtactics now? Well whatever the case, the guy said he'd fight me again, but after I send the challenge, he disappears from the lobby. What is this???

Ever play against Kenshin_Wonderer? I started a match with him last night and he just stopped. He said I was too good then he comes back and says ok i'll fight and I say "OK if you try your best ^^" and he calls me a snob.

It's not that bad, but it does happen.
It's actually not as common as anyone else says.

SC4 on XBL would never disconnect no matter how terrible the lag got, sometimes, the game would slow down so badly, I was once in a 5 round 8 minute fight, it would just freeze randomly for 3 seconds, move, then freeze again. I thought it was one of my most hilarious SC matches ever, I wish I owned a capture card back then.

I saw the strangest thing tonight, somehow all of the attack hit boxes got turned off. All attacks by either of us just passed straight through the other (verts, horizontals, throws, unblockables). Though, it was still registering collision between the 2 characters as we couldn't walk through each other. Sadly I don't have a replay as they disconnected.

This some strange new incredibly annoying hack? (at least it made both of us invulnerable and not just one of us) Or just the strangest lag desync behavior ever? Anyone ever see this before?

That is how things would go in The Fight if that game desynched. You'd both appear invulnerable though in that game it was still keeping track of your life so someone would just eventually collapse.
