The Custom Leixia Thread

Muuuuuuuuuuch prefer the brown jacketed version. The blue one is nice, but that extra detail places it on the edge of garish. The brown one fixes that, makes it more steampunky AND highlights to colours much more nicely, all in one wonderful package. I also love the little emblem on the back there, it's nice.

As for making her more adorable, I'm not really certain. The skulls seem a bit random compared to the rest of the design, and I'm in two minds about the snake-shoulder piece. Part of me likes it, but then I think I just like the idea of something being on the shoulder, you know?

But other than that minor thing, I can't really find fault with this. At first glance it looks like there're two many patterns and colours, but the more you gaze the less true that becomes. It all kind of, merges together into a fine display of feminine masculinity. I might steal this, in fact. =];}D

The skulls and shoulder piece are stuff I threw into the mix. I was going for a spunky cutesy steampunk girl. Think Ling Xiaoyu with stempunk attire posing with an attitude.

I actually wanted to challenge myself to not using DLC. Just not sure what to replace the skulls with. The shoulder pad I might need to remove yet somehow it kind of looks okay.....back to the lab to experiment to update haha.

It's definitely got that cute but cheeky attitude!

You could maybe colour the dagger pendent up to look like a key or something? Bit of a lame suggestion but there isn't much in the way of decent non-DLC neckwear.

Actually, I found one that fits. That Flight necktie. Removed the Shoulder pad. Makes her look plain, but sometimes some equipment doesn't suit how I want her to look. Pics right about.....Now

First up, I will say Leixia is rather irritated for the third trial haha...

Oh yeah, the necktie looks really cute, but keeps with the theme. Nice choice yo!
The lack of shoulder isn't something I'm lamenting much myself, she's still got some detail, and it streamlines the design as a whole now - Making the rosey pattern on the top stand out more, for example. I prefer this one.

Took me about 3 days to make this. When it comes to serious CAS, I have to be as meticulous as a painter haha.

You seem to be quite meticulous in your competitive training too. Bit of a perfectionist are we? Of course, only the best CaS are those that've been built over a long time.

Oh snap.

Testing out my phone camera against my new TV, hence the less-than-perfect quality. But allow me to present (one photo of) my most recent Leixia:

Arabian Mystic
OS6sU.jpg

Inspired by Arabian dance videos, I wanted to capture the skilled grace and beauty of the movements, in CaS form for whatever reason. I failed miserably, but ho~hum!

I originally wanted stark white with turquoise, but it kind of grew into this sandy/vibrant hybrid that I've grown quite attached to. The symbol on the face mask was to give the design a bit of character, so she didn't just look like she was dressing up. Mysterious assassin cult? Probably not.

How come you didn't use the arabian slacks?

Too dull. I tried them out, but without stickers and textures and a bunch of other stuff (which culminated into some awful mesh of eye-crippling horror), they just weren't interesting, causing the design to lack detail and feel bland. Plus I love Natsu's 2P stuff.

For starters, just look at some Arabian wear via google fashion and emulate it. Then put your own spin to it.

I did that, but I wanted to make it a bit less restricted whilst keeping a very "desert wanderer" feel. A bit less traditional, a bit more modern, if you will.

Leixia drop-off.

1st one is slap on practicing with colors.

Slap-on 2

Ultimate slap-on 3. Basically, I just changed her hairstyle and put on the outfit and didn't do anything else. No different coloring..

The last two are small pics for the edits and they're old ones...
