Probably not, but I'm sure they'll be in a LONNGG hiatus. They need to be anyways.
Maybe SCVI will come around 2014?

Yeah, I remeber that arument. I really hate Lexia's Face. I see nothing Chinese, the same conspiricy with the Koreans. The irony hurts cause the developers are asian themselves. They did Zas perfectly at the least.

That's something I missing from the past SC games. If you look into SC1 and SC2, those characters looks. . . so real.

Guys, please stop with the double posts. We have an edit button for a reason.

Also, I don't believe it was the petition that got us SC5. What did it have? 1000, 2000 signatures? Even if it had 10,000, that's not enough to justify spending a million some dollars to develop a game. The reason we got SC5 is the resurgence of the fighting game genre in these past 2 to 3 years. If fighters continue to sell strong, like they appear to be doing, we'll get an SC6. I just hope, as we've all said a million times, that they're given the time and resources to do it right.

Also, I can't tell you how happy I am that DOA has given the characters a more realistic look instead of supa-kawaii-uguuu-anime-manga-fighter-5. I hope SC continues along that path as well. Leixia is pretty obviously, I think, modelled off of Kayane's face. So she looks sorta asian, in the westernized way that all Japanese developers seem to love. SC3 was far and away the best game for them getting ethnicities down acurately. (At least in the renders). So please let's go back to that.

You can tell on the lips that it looks like Kayane, but not the eyes.

Because Namco give them chances, cuz Namco play safe with Tekken, Tekken don't give up on half roster, no matter how many clones they have. I am not saying Tekken is a better game.
-Tekken has done the SC approach before with Tekken 3, yet still praised for it.
-Good luck thinking that every character being in Tekken 7 would be a good thing, because the roster is already a clusterfuck. It's going to get worse on Tekken 7 because the more whiny ones will want the characters that returned in Tekken Tag Tournament 2 (more notably Michelle, Jun, Kunimitsu, Tiger, Alex, etc.) to be in the roster. Not to mention new characters joining the fray.

Grr I hate mixing franchises. Soul Calibur should just make a game called Soul Calibur legends, half the cast is Soul Calibur the other half is gaming legends, get your Sethiroths, your Grey Foxes, your Dentes, your Soul Reavers, your Ezios, I dunno Master Cheifs.
Would cost a bomb to make but the fan boys will flood it and raise awareness for Soul Calibur in general for when they make another game with no guests.
They made this game thinking about the thousands of fans of SF and the other thousands of fans from SC and wanted to join the two franchises in one game giving us as a result a disgusting and gimmicky hybrid. I believe Namco should pay more attention to PS, soul calibur is a popular franchise, and a lot more accessible to new players than tekken and was much stronger as its own identity.

This! PREACH! I have always felt like Sc5 plays nothing like its predecessors. Which is terrible because the unique Soul Calibur feel of previous games is what got me hooked on the series.

Soul Calibur V sadly ran its course so suddenly, it was like a flash in the pan. I hope there is a SCVI, and whatever direction Project Soul takes, may it be reboot, continuation, or what happen between the 17 year time skip, is up to them entirely and the fans are going to count of them to do so.

Project soul, I hate you for ruining the roster and remaining characters.
Namco, I hate you for everything else.

The backlash is still flowing and it only seems reinvigorated widely since they stopped caring. Its very likely, I think Namco had said that PS wasn't together right now which is why they haven't done anything for this past while. They're probably overwhelmed by all the hate theyre getting for a game we begged them to make. Now they're embarrassed because they had to fight namco just to get permission to make it in the first place. Namco had intended to give up on the series for a long time after 4 was done. That seems to be going on a lot these days. One side gets all the blame while the other holds no responsibility whatsoever.

Do you know of a link that says PS isn't together right now? I've been doing a search to see if they;ve been disbanded again but zilch results. for this year.

Is it just me or it seems like Namco wants SC and Tekken to be "competition" when really they aren't, and never was from the beginning. The timing of everything was so obvious.

I still don't understand why people prefer a game that has no air control over one that does. I guess some people like excessive juggling.

Who said that, because I certainly hate juggling, or at least Tekken's current way. That's actually my main criticism of Tekken. I consider it to be "too much of a reward" in case your opponent "effs" up.

He was just making a comment about people in general. To me though I think the average person likes Tekken more simply because it's a "martial arts" based game. People like to see others fight with fists instead of weapons. Us SC players are just the odd ones out. For some reason they just don't like weapon based fighting because to them it's more exciting to watch 2 people fight using attacks that look pretty much the same all while twitching around like a crack addict.

People like to be rewarded for their efforts in punishing. Juggles are seen as approprite rewards for good strategy. Air control messes that up.

Unless it's SC, since diffferent characters have different ranges with different weapons.

If I would fix anything in Tekken it would be the bitch stepping. No I don't want to watch two people spazzing out before they attack each other.
I honestly think Tekken would do far better in mobility if it used 8wayrun but I dunno if that feature was pattened.

Most of the problem if not all of of it for the community must be the broken ethic of a fighting game series. For where PS is, playing it safe with the engine and just keeping to what worked before this point was a much better evolutionary trait to keep rather then risking it all for a theory that would change everything so much. For me was them having to try and rebalance everything to make that vivid idea work thus hindering what didnt need to be overhauled. SC is the last game that needs a meter and special-awesome cutscene attacks, I mean I praised it for that because it made the game look more realistic. It's hard, because when you get back to what was done better and what actually made Sol calibur a good game even an alternative to Tekken, you want things to go back to the way they used to be and that's rarely (if ever) possible. SoulCalibur 5 is simultaneously one of the best Soul Calibur games ever made, as well as the worst Soul Calibur game ever made. Though I'm more curious what the finished product would have actually looked like.
