Well i run two MAIN teams. Nova/Dante/Strider and Dante/Deadpool/Taskmaster

Normally in those orders as well. But i've been thinking of removing Strider entirely and replacing with either Deadpool or Taskmaster. So last night i did just that with Deadpool and it worked really well against the people i was playing, with no practice with it, but some thing seemed like it wouldn't work and so now i need to to the lab and feel it out. While i know Taskmaster and Nova can be best friends thanks to Moons and may give that a shot as well.

But lvl 3 xfactor Strider is to good. TOO GOOD. I'm just sticking with Hulk/Dorm/Sent I'll switch the order later but this team will do me well. We should play sometime seeing as we are on each others friends list.

Oh lvl 3 Strider is good and i have a decent Strider lol. Vajra assist is good too. But you never know man, my new team could end up being godlike.
And your team is THE ARMOR MONSTER, which i normally use my other team for anyway lol.


This is true i don't think we've ever played even though we are PSN pals. Also i haven't played any fighting game online in a long time so maybe that's why.
 
In my opinion, animefreak, Strider is the best assist for Dante next to sentinel drones. He's also one of the best anchors in the game, so I would recommend sticking with him.

What does Nova get out of that assist though? I haven't seen anyone run Nova/Strider before.
 
The exact same thing man.

Nova can Full Screen OTG into full combo, hell it's why i started using Strider to begin with since i had no real intention on using the guy. And my custom combos with this team are amazing, but that can be said with most teams. The team works well too however the team struggles against Wolverine and Zero style rushdown a lot for lack of defensive options and low health.

Against Wolverine, you should have Dante on Weasel Shot (if he's not already on that assist anyway). You should be fine at that point. Opening up Zero all depends on what the Zero is doing, I guess. Generally speaking, I switch Dante to Jam Session in that matchup, but Weasel Shot is cool and stuff if they're mainly trying to mix you up on the ground. I'm assuming that you're generally flying around with Nova, so I'll just say that since you want to dominate that same airspace, go with Jam Session. Maybe chuck some Javelins behind H Pulse? Lol. Or just start Dante *shrug*. You should have killed off the Zero/Wolverine by the time they get to your Strider, but XF3 Strider covering himself with animals and 214S~214S shouldn't have any problems against those characters either.

Question, since I'm looking to see if I can improve my Dante/Strider combos: Are you just doing 236M~M OTG + Vajra into 623M~M? I know that 6239M, 6239M CAN work somehow, I just dunno the practical scenarios for it. Or are you doing something else?
 
Well that's all just speculation at best lol. I know what i should be doing, but Zero is just so dominant on all fronts, especially against any of these characters, that it's difficult no matter what. For Wolverine though, same with Spencer too for some reason, i start Dante and have Nova with Gravimetric Pulse and it shuts down a lot of their ground game.
I almost always have Dante on Jam Session because of the sweet Nova and Strider combos i get with it if i ever have them out with Dante, and it's still a fairly good assist overall.

For Dante and Strider only i always do 236M-M with Vajra and then go into down shots into Stinger for wall splat, j.S or Hammer and then end with 623M-M and depending if i have Nova or not or against the wall will always change what i do.
but 236M-M with Vajra does decent damage, more than 623L and other things.
 
Zero... Why is he so damn good? My team gets utterly destroyed by Zero and I just have to hope people mess up pretty bad so I can get some offense in on Zero. Hulk can't do anything if Zero rushes in or if Zero starts to zone, this match just sucks.

Not really. I've played a lot of Zeros, since Maryland is full of them, and Xanadu is one of the closest monthlies to my state. At worst, Dante vs. Zero is a 6-4 in Zero's favor. If Dante has Strider or Drones (Moreso Strider because drones can get BLOOOWWWNNNNN UP way too easily), it's 5-5 at worst. Strider has to play pretty carefully against Zero, especially when he's chucking lightning everywhere. But, I've only ever had to fight Zero with my Strider a couple times (because Dante and/or Viper take him out before it comes down to Strider), so I really can't say too much.
 
I would like to say that I am lucky as hell for maining Taskmaster because he blows up Zero for free! He can't chuck buster shots at him because he can just reflect dat shit back at him. He tries to lightning, Shield bash his ass! Plus you can zone him if he just wants to stay back from Tasky. He also cannot rush down Taskmaster solo because he got counters vs Zero and if any of his regular counters fail, he has his counter-super, plus he can combo afterwards.

Dante is one of the better characters vs Zero because his normals can out range him, but you have to be on point to successfully space that all the time, especially with Zero being able to be anywhere he damn well pleases at any time.
Vajra assist doesn't help that much at all if they are aware you have it. j.H bitch slaps that move away and his lightning or swift 214 dashes just gem him out of that. Nova vs Zero is just a death sentence for Nova.

And i used to run my secondary team vs Zeros specifically because Taskmaster has a much better time against Zero by himself let alone with any assist.

The issue is the Zero's i play are also great, being Sam aka Mihe from Houston (4th at FR this year)and Stone from Dallas or Houston who beats Sam often as well...... so i just take it in the ass and cry.
 
I feel as if my Hulk/Dorm/Sent team wont be getting me far at any majors now. I have like zero mix-ups with my team outside of Dorm. I have to play smart as shit and extremely safe just so I wont get blown up by characters with teleports and simple mix-ups. I don't have the time to dedicate to marvel that I'd like to have what with MLG and EVO right after.

Hulk, why you so weak against zoning and rushdown?

That actually becomes a problem the longer you play. When people respect Hulk it becomes difficult to get damage in since Hulk gets most of his damage from people pushing buttons. When people turtle the options Hulk has are extremely limited since push blocking really screws him over.

Annnnnnd in those matchups I would just start Dorm.
 
And that's why Zero vs Hulk is arguably the gayest thing of all time. Hulk loses to both Zero rushdown and keep away equally bad. So sad to watch most of the time.

Dude I just started using Dorm/Doom/Sent and the wins are coming in, I don't have to work as hard for wins or play as safe with the team set up.

No. If you want the worst match thing ever than you need to watch a Hulk vs. MODOK that is just horrible. At least with Zero you grab him out of lightning and possibly kill him. With Modok all he has to do is j.L and use his gatling gun on the ground and it's over. Hulk can't do anything against a good MODOK its got to be 9-1 in MODOK's favor.

Haha I can imagine so. So just use Doom 2nd and start Dorm in matchups where Hulk simply doesn't work? That sounds like a plan to me. I have matchups with my team (Viper/Dante/Strider) where I start Dante first, like Haggar, where I need to run away (because I'm not good enough with Viper yet to do that consistently).

I also started picking up Taskmaster/Dante/Doom too, for fun (and because I want to have a derp team). Missiles + "I SEE YOU!" all day lol. And Dante's Weasel Shot is so good for footsies.
 
So I have this new cross up with hulk that is kind of wonky, Gamma charge under incoming opponents after a snap back or character kill. The weird thing with this is that I have to Xfactor but when I do hulk ends up airborne at times and that screws up my cross up.

Oh and I have a couple ideas for some anti-phoenix tech that I will post later if they work.
