What SCV Needs.

Should change the title to "want" not "need." I can enjoy the hell out of SCV without what you've listed. The only thing this game really needs is to be running on my PS3 now.

So if SCV was just a black screen, you wouldn't care just so long as you had it? Of course it needs certain things. These are the things it doesn't have that I think it needs. I know I would enjoy this game so much more if it had what I listed.

1- Talim
2-A better ending if that was really the ending (spolier video)
3-Team battle mode
4-Better Xbox Live (which it looks to be improved)
4- other characters that did not make an apperance such as Bangoo
Otherwise, I am highly looking forward to the game

Comparing SCV to a black screen makes little sense to me because you can still use SCV; you can't do anything with a screen. What you listed is more desirable than needed, because the series went on just fine without them. I wanted Team Battle too, but if it's not there, it's not there. Once you read character profiles, you're not going to keep revisiting them, Arcade ending are a nice touch, but they're pointless and non-canon, and Legendary Souls, imo, is just as good as any survival mode.

A tournament regulated DJ character, And the ability to customize EM. Idk if you can or not, but that outfit would look awesome in a slick black.

That's arguable. So many fun, simple modes died with SC2, and they may never return at this rate, but their continued exclusion makes absolutely no sense to me. SCV will be the first SoulCalibur to lack character profiles or arcade endings, so I wouldn't say just yet that the series is fine without them.

SC4 didn't have Arcade endings.

Alternatively, it is possible that things like team battle and character profiles, etc., will be unlocked by doing certain things in the game.

I sure hope so.

Because what do we have for modes? Online VS (improved, yes, but lag is guaranteed, making it hard to take seriously), vanilla 1 on 1 VS (every fighter has this), practice (improved beyond a doubt), boss rush, battle vs CPU, CPU vs CPU, story mode (play it once and never touch it again), and CaS. That's a lot of modes, but it could easily be so much more with the addition of simple modes that really should be staples at this point. Team Battle, anyone? I see no excuse as to why Team Battle is continually left out. Maybe they don't realize how fun it is. Maybe they forgot.

CaS in particular seems to be threatening to eclipse other features more than it already has. I've enjoyed it, and I was looking forward to messing with it again, but really? I could live without it. If it meant a better game in all other departments, I'd cut CaS in a heartbeat. CaS is not what made SoulCalibur good, and it's not what SoulCalibur should be about.

It's perhaps the most defining part of SC, unfortunate as it is. What better way to let new players come through than to let them create their own fighter to play around with? It was the gimmick SC3 was running on back in '05 (I remember the two page ad with two created characters dueling on Kilik's stage), and it's still the most popular mode in SC nowadays.

While half of the community thrives on competitive play, the other thrives on pure enjoyment and imagination, and that's why they keep revamping CaS to be even better in each subsequent release.

Cutting it out = lol they're going to be pretty damn broke

CAS is for the casuals

I know that. So is Team Battle, in my eyes. I want this game to be as fun as possible, but it just won't be when basic modes are being left out. Team Battle was a great party mode. Its inclusion, were I director, would be a must. There'd be zero doubt about it. And given how easy it would be to include, I can't fathom why it continues to fall through the cracks. I'm talking bang for your buck. It seems obvious. But no.

And I'd be part of both halves. There's a reason this thread is in the casual forum. I'm hardly clamoring for a tighter focus on competitive play, here. I want that, but I also wish they would remember the simple variety of modes that made SC2 so memorable and enjoyable. They're not going to cut CaS. I realize that. I don't even want them to. Each sequel should build upon what the last one offered, which brings me back to my point: that SC2 continues to be the high point of this series in terms of modes that are just straight-up, simple fun. And that was 10 years ago. That makes no sense to me.
