Which SC is the Best?

I pick SCII because spent alot of hours as a kid trying to beat the weapon master mode with My best Friend Paul and for nostalgia's sake i picked it up for the 360 once i learned it was backwards compatible and rebeat weapon master mode. after beating it i realized that i sucked some ass at SCII when i was a kid. If they digitally remastered the game and slaped online multiplayer on it i would buy it in a heartbeat!

This. And memories.

The first Soulcalibur was great.
The second was OK but became slightly retarded at high level.
The third was probably near the best without the most game breaking glitch in the history of fighting games.
The fourth was pretty all around awful but I still enjoyed it.
The fifth is the most well rounded overall even if I can't stand it sometimes.

I think it's a toss up between SCI, SCV, and SCIII:AE.

It's always been a battle between 2 and 3 for me. I really want them to remake 2 and/or 3, add an online mode to it, touch up the graphics, and maybe add some new creation, but creation or not, I'd own that shit in a minute.

My favorite, in terms of many different things, is and always has been the first Soul Calibur. It's my favorite soundtrack- why did they have to take away Going To Where The Wind Blows? That's just about my favorite video game song ever, let alone in the Soul series- and the best storyline. Had the best art gallery as well, some of the pieces being rather awesome or heartwarming, sometimes both; I've even started a bit of a drabble series based off of 'A Flower for Astaroth'.

The costume design, for me, is a tie between I and II; my dream costume for Ivy would be to have her II 2p costume with the color scheme of her 1 2p costume.

III follows very closely behind I in the soundtrack, and I loved how they handled the special weapons' powers; Siegfried with extra range? Sick.

I think that, so far, IV has had the best character customization, considering how the gameplay mechanics had changed a bit. V still beats IV with just how much variety it has, though.

Here's my opinions on some.

I'll start from II.

II: Having an arcade and the console version makes you think twice. A lot of people claim that the voice acting was bad, I'm neutral about it. Since the arcade has a more complex sound system, the sound is clearer unlike the console version. Anyway, I love SCII design wise. It was a step ahead of any other of that time and is still ahead of some games today.

III: My absolute favorite SC, no matter how broken it is and how Setsuka knows what move you're going to make a second before you do. The graphics were very unique and pleasing, this took a lot of negaive criticism as well. From the content, the new characters introduced, music, and including all of the past characters as guest, made me give it an A+.

IV: This game wasn't exactly on par with it's predecessors, but still had unique features such as a new graphics engine, online play, and a design overhaul. If the game gave what tourney players wanted and had a revamped single player experience, it would have been on par with 3... almost.

V: Here's where it gets messy. This game is a controversy between players in the community. Booted characters, new fighting system, story, and other minor things cause huge fights in hate/love threads dedicated to this game.

I think the game is iight, I'm glad they gave us another SC.

That's all I got for now.

If you play only for the gameplay Soul Calibur V
If you play for the gamplay and rest Soul Calibur III (even if the balance was bad)
But Soul Calibur IV still give each char the best individual story( Not talking about the mode) every one get a good story and more dramatic and deep meaning

And ROCK and MINA.

Also Solo your sig. Was that guy sarcastic? Cause if not I don't understand what is the world coming to.

V is like...pretty much the best the series will ever get as far as gameplay goes. If I could change one thing about its gameplay, it'd be incorporating every goddamn moveset the series has ever seen somehow. Oh yeah, talk about a metric fuckton of work getting Spawn, Vader, III's godawful broken CAS styles, Kratos, and somehow Lloyd in there but dammit I want it all. I don't care if it'd make the character select screen as crowded as Tekken or Virtua Fighter, I just want it regardless of the downsides >:D

As long as we can pretend V doesn't have any Story Mode at all(I know I've been telling myself that since release day), I'd say it's the best we've seen in the series yet. Of course I have nothing against the older titles either(except that steaming pile of shit that was released on Wii)...

Soul Blade/Soul Edge: Okay, I hate that it was released only in arcades and on PSX when I had no easy access to arcades or a PSX. Also, that weapon break mechanic sounds incredibly retarded at every level. Sooooooooo glad they didn't keep it.

Soulcalibur: ...I don't actually remember it. I only played it after it hit XBLA(in spite of owning a Dreamcast) and just got bored with it. I should really see about playing it again.

SC II: So much single player shit to do, amazing. Cemented my place as a long-time fan. Glad they didn't go that way with V :P

III: See above, plus CAS. The variety of pieces was quite lovely. The wild imbalance we could've done without though.

IV: A prettier version of III that is weaker in most ways, save for the lololol online play ability. No hate on Cthulhu Cultist Cervantes though.

BD: *sigh* Shit like this makes me regret not actually owning a PSP. That gauntlet mode sounds so incredibly awesome...

I think the SC4 gameplay is pretty neat :c ( but I think sc5's is better) Ivy was hard to master but man when you did~ Bwhahah it was a dark day for people who played with you.
