Which Soul Series character do you feel bad for?

HydroJames

Shining Sea Dragon
I feel that Sophitia deserves a lot of pity...
sopsc4art1-jpg.4252

Look at her illustration, she's in tears...

Sophitia, once a reliable warrior in the fight against Soul Edge, was forced to protect Soul Edge after Tira kidnapped her daughter and infected her with the evil sword so much, that she would die without its energy sustaining her. Reluctantly, she killed many people after the sword with the guilt of each sin tearing at her heart. When the evil sword was destroyed and Pyrrha started to die, Sophitia was forced to remove the Soul Edge shard from near her heart and implant it in her child.

Sophitia may have successfully saved her daughter, but at the cost of her life and died before being given the chance to redeem herself...

And death her had negative effects on her family...
Her daughter, Pyrrha, was kidnapped by Tira at an age where she was too young to remember her family and grew up having everyone who was close to her mysteriously dying (as they were all killed by Tira) and being blamed for it. She was manipulated by Tira into killing in self-defence and becoming the host for Soul Edge. Keep in mind, this is the girl Sophitia fought and died for so that she could have a life to live...
Her husband, Rothion, has had his blacksmith business suffer due to his failure to protect his wife, daughter, and sister-in-law and later died of illness. Their relationship lasted only a short four years.
Her son, Patroklos, after hearing from his father that the malfested were responsible for his mother's death, set out on a quest for vengeance to place his misplace retribution on the malfested. We all know how well that turned out.
Her sister, Cassandra, was sucked into Astral Chaos upon finding her body. Who knows what has happened to her since then?

Honestly, Cervantes. A man who grew up wishing to be a man who helped his king... only to see how little his king cared about his men when his father died(note that his father was a privateer- a state sponsored pirate). This drives him to become a pirate (essentially what his father was, but with no loyalty to the crown) and during this new endeavor he found Soul Edge.

Then (likely) soon after he started out as a pirate, he gets a letter from Vercci: a request to find Soul Edge: At first Cervantes dismissed the offer, but finally accepted since Vercci was the merchant who gave him the artillery for his ship.

He searches for this weapon for a year, then finds it and gets controlled by it for over 20 years. Meaning that out of those 48 years Cervantes has lived by the time of "Soul Edge" the game, at least 21, most likely more(anywhere up to 30 years is possible, if he was controlled by Soul Edge) was spent under mind-control.

Cervantes was anywhere in the range of 18-21 when he became a pirate, and clearly didn't spend a lot of time as one before finding Soul Edge. Heck- it's possible the quest for Soul Edge started as early as he became a pirate.

Also, Aeon has the saddest tale of all of the SC characters.

Yoshimitsu, because he was soo perfect that he got replaced by some cosplaying faggot with the same voice actor.

Tira. She never had an actual childhood since she was kidnapped at birth by an evil organization and raised to be a heartless murderer. She's as sadistic as she is because that's the only thing she knows.

Sophitia crying because everyone is judging her concept art rather than her gameplay model.

It's gotta be Aeon though. HE JUST WANTS TO BE FREEEEE

I feel sorry for Nightmare, not only because he has so many bad MU's but because he constantly gets resurrected just to be rekt by Siegfried...you might say he gets Resur-rekt-ed harharhar...*cue tumbleweed*
in all honesty tho the Alexandra family went through some pretty dark shit, how the mighty have fallen

reading this makes me think that japanese writers abuse the "tragic backstory" thing a little too much. along with several other tropes that are quickly becoming cliché.
bruh you don't even know the half of it...just about everyone in SC (bar Asta, Aeon, Talim) has a dead family member, either murdered/killed in some form or taken by disease, and this was done during Soul Edge times.

Really, no one said Ivy? o.O
no one said Ivy because Ivy's isn't as tragic as some others.

Well, I don't think Raphael's family members are dead. They just disowned him.

Kilik: Because he has to live with the guilt of killing Xianglian, his sworn sister and that he couldn't live a happy life with Xianghua.
Xianghua: She got pregnant by Kilik, had a kid, gave that kid up to her father, and married a guy she didn't want to be with.
Maxi: His pirate crew was killed by Astaroth, and has spent his entire life trying to avenge their deaths.
Siegfried: He accidentally killed his father and he had to repent for his sins.

Aeon Calcos. The guy was sent by Hephaestus to embark on a divine quest only to end up being captured & turned into a lizard.Plus it's taking him like FOREVER to regain his memories.

Another character I feel sorry is Yung Seoung. He's an example of "It's better to show him than tell him." Talim,Hwang & even Seoung Mina told him (Seoung Mina even showed)that Soul Edge was evil & like an idiot,he saw it for himself & STILL wanted it.

Raph.
1. Lost his family
2. Lost his humanity
3. Lost his sanity
4. Lost his memories
5. Lost his daughter
6. Loses more and more moves in each game
7. (As Dumas/Nightmare) Loses to two punk kids and a werewolf
8. (As Dumas/Nightmare) Lost his kingdom and Soul Edge

I think the man needs to reflect and start seeing where he went wrong. It's been more than enough years for him to start realizing that his dream of a new world isn't gonna work. He doesn't have anything left to lose besides his hair at this point

He and Amy could have their very own world, but Kilik step right in and stop Raphael dream prior Soul Calibur III; which hit a big boom like a smack on the face at Raphael. Yeah he needs to be himself like in SCII and worry about mainly getting Amy/Viola back, he has to pick either Amy /Viola or dominating the whole world. We both know which is the best choice in this matter.

Or he can move on and realize that after 17 years, he should stop being creepy and let his daughter live her own life. Every bird has to leave its nest.
Oh and his previous dream of malfesting the world would have gone like this====> Everyone turns malfested, eventually goes insane and turns into monsters and everyone just kills everyone.
His dream of using Soul Calibur would have just froze the planet.

Nvm I don't feel bad for him anymore. He got what he deserved minus the family betrayal part.
