Why is Kilik called the master of cheapness???

Is Kilik cheaper than some other characters???

Seriously surprised the vote is leaning yes. I'm not seein where he's cheap at all. Could be the fact Ivy's SW 2_3B+K owns him on spacing and many other things.

He's a good character, I just don't see cheap in the equation. It takes a lot of skill to use him right...but I guess he'd be the king of scrubs vs other scrubs simply do to range and devastating strings if you don't know how to punish them.
 
The problem with Kilik is that he has 1 move that is CLEARLY overpowered. Not on the same level as Hilde's doom combo or Algol's bubble spacing, but just by simply knowing how to time Asura correctly, you can effectively shut down a lot of opponents. The move has insane tracking, hits backwards and forwards, jumps over lows, auto-GI's all mids, and does about 50 damage on it's own and RO's. You can beat most low tier characters by spacing and spamming Asura. Not to mention FotD to Asura dance equals auto RO on certain stages. High level players can deal with Asura spamming, scrubs and noobs can't.

Insane tracking? No. It can be stepped even after the first hit on block (kinda hard but possible).

aGI all mids? No. Body attacks are safe. Asta laughs at Asura.

Literally spamming Asura will get Kilik killed quickly. Low tiers have no special weakness against it. The move is powerful no doubt. That's why it's unsafe. Don't mind me though. I am scrub ^_^
 
On high level play only cheap characters up for discussion are Algol and Hilde.

Online goes to Cervy, Mitsu, Astaroth, Sieg

Scrubs...yoda (lol the worst character is god against scrubs!)

Asura is the WORSE option for RO off of FoTD.
You can air control to change your direction in the air, the Asura tracks and hits you though. :(

FotD rings out in like... 4 different directions.. But not with Asura. :P
 
in all fairness I voted yes... because it asks if he is "cheaper than any other characters." And I have to say he is cheaper than rock and vader (and some might say yoda). Rock because poor rocky rock just ain't made to be cheap-able. And vader because I'm not willing to pay 5 dollars to buy the bastard...so...since kilik came with the game FOR FREE... vader is more expensive making kilik cheaper ;P

and to mikosu...its hard to step ONLINE... and still somewhat hard to step on reaction offline (specially since its unsafe on block making blocking it a better choice usually... But yes... it is not a "spammable" move offline. or online really...

And Asty just loves to grab TJing asura spam for the ringout.... he does it in his spare time when he's not shooting heroine, doing squats, or having starring contest with Bane from Batman...
 
Lol gator. With hard to step I was referring to the 2nd hit after blocking the first. Stepping it gives you more leeway to punish since you're not subject to guessing if the 3rd hit's coming. I like your logic. Everyone but Yoda is cheap!
 
I knew ya was talking about the 2nd hit... I just don't fight kiliks offline ...*tear... so I tend to get in trouble trying to step online and good ole' net code says my reaction time was not up to Norris (Norris is the fighter equivalent to being "par"). And yes.. my logic is flawless :) Tis' for "the greater good"

Seriously though, Yoda sucks. Even Rock outprioritizes him. Talim can 1A+B him all day and he can't do anything since Yoda has 0 step. Not to mention that 6B is HAIGH! wtf

Also mikosu, when I said Asura has insane tracking, I was referring to the fact that the first hit tracks on both sides and connects when you're in 8WR. In other words, Asura is hard to step punish, even though it's a vertical. There's not that many moves that can do that, except some of Mitsu's retarded ish, and everyone knows how annoying he is. Especially online.

And when I said certain stages, I meant the smaller stages(I don't remember the names). There's not that many and it's not on par with Doom combo, I said that.
 
That should be changed to 360s CAN be cheaper than PS3s. Depends on whether or not you want to get everything and have the full "360 experience". Ya know, Live, wireless controller, recharger, stuff along those lines. Though I will admit Microsoft has gotten better over the years with the accessories. Free HDMI cable FTW!
 
He's only cheap when he stays back and uses his amazing range to rape you and all you have to do is block when your about to get hit or Gi it, its so annoying because online mostly every Kilik player does this, and I've only played one good Kilik even though I beat him, Dude was amazingly good.

I thought the first part of Asura won't hit if you're 8WRing to your left? Can't really remember, it's been a while since I tested stepping Kilik. Also, Mitsurugi isn't much harder to step than any other character in the game, you just have to know when, and how, to step. If you use 8WR excessively or you step to the left, you're probably going to get raped in the face by Mitsurugi.

Also, to whomever said that Algol is cheap, Algol has way more even/unfavorable matchups than Hilde, making him about equal to just about any other top tier character. Once you learn how to get through the bubbles with your character, you can basically fight him like you'd fight any other character. Yeah, he's a great character, but he's far from unbeatable.
