Why isn't Soul Edge on PSN?

Actually it's pretty bad, but you can find copies on eBay pretty easy if you need to play it that badly, which I don't know why when SCV is about to come out.

Well, it's not even close to SC standards, but I don't see what so many people dislike about it. It's just another game, and I actually fond it very cool. And not everyone has a PSX/Ps3.

Bad game, keep it in the past where it belongs. The best thing about it was the trailer on demo 1 for the PS1 at the time, lol.

The best thing is clearly...

You got to get to the Edge of Soul, to carry on what you believed in from the very start

You got to get to the Edge of Soul, to carry on, deep in your heart

But no, that's still no argument for buying it. ;)

Are you kidding me? It is a great game. This is the best game in the series with SC1. The Edge Master had a better story than all SC games combined.
Ok - let me get this straight, your on a FG forum and don't talk about how good it is for fighting or competitive play and instead talk about story? That is the last time I take any post you make seriously.

I'm saying that the Edge Master made SB stand out. The gameplay is equal to SC1.

You seem kinda new here and you're kinda spouting off a bit of "herp derp" stuff. I'm not trying to be an ass, but I take it this your third thread of "herp derp" ness? The groin thread was quite childish to me. The rival thread is fine though.

Anyways, Pocky Yoshi says hello and is pleased to meet you.

As someone who played Soul Blade, I miss it for nostalgia play and story. But, imho it will never hold me over since SCV is gonna pwn it to kingdom come. I will forewarn you that the story, dressup and all is merely the fluff to keep you busy. The gameplay excels way more than Soul Blade.

Anyways, I will forewarn you that hardcore players opinion differ from a casual's opinion. That isn't to say we're discriminating, but it's best to "look both ways before crossing the roads" if I were to draw an analogy.

Still though, feel free to be expressive as long as you've got a bit of common sense. Hope to see you around for SCV, comrade.

actually is pretty good, had a great reception with very high scores, the best is SC1 though...

I think I remember seeing SB in a list of psone games for PSN on the 2012, I'll see if I can find the link.

It was good for its time, play it now and it's terrible. Who cares how well it was received over a decade ago. So if you need to play it that badly, it's pretty easy to get a copy from eBay and play it on the PS3, but I am sure that people want to put 0 effort into trying to play SB.

But then it goes back to my original point is what's the point in going back to play such an old game when SCV is about to come out.

I was actually wondering the same. Its on XBL & if i'm not mistaking, IOS. Hopefully we canget that link, Azazel. It seems odd to me why the game isn't on PSN when it came out on the PS1. I heard the XBL version is seriously dumbed down, hopefully the PSN version won't be.

it used to be mine...until I replayed it. I still love it but compared to the games that follow all of them are better in the end. Soul Blade/Edge is still fun to play every now and then but is for nostalgia more than anything else.

The real question though is why can't the PSN get Soul Calibur?

The idea of comparing a game from almost 20 years ago to a new game is completely retarded. If people want a release of SB on the PSN is pure nostalgia!!! OF COURSE SB SUX! if you compare it to a new game, we all know that but back then it was an awesome game better than any other fighter on that year. Come on plz use the logic and common sense is not that hard...

WTF? Did you even play the games? SC is much more superior.

It's not. It got a 89 on Metacritic and PSM listed it 4rth in all PS1 games.
Black Ops got 8-9 average through the internet. I'd give it about a six.

Personally,It's my favorite game from the soul series...
But for different reasons. If we measured game experience overall, it'd have a 9 or even a 10. Competitively however, it won't get more than a 7. The thing most people here are not getting though, is that nobody who downloads Ps games to their Ps3 is looking forward to playing competitively, and even if they would they couldn't, the darn game is more than 15 years old; they just want a quick nostalgia fix. If all games were to be rated by competitive players, most games wouldn't get more than a five... But people in any gaming community are too damn stubborn and close-minded to realize that they're just a tiny little fraction of the community, and most of the fandom would compulsively get it like the american consumers they are, just like I'll be the first person ever to download SC for my cute little music player next year.

His question is completely valid: Why isn't Soul Edge on PSN? Considering that several PsOne games are on it for download, and many people download them, why isn't it there? The game is fun, and many people actually like it, so Namco could make some money out of it (or Sony, or whomever get money from PSN downloads). Don't want the game there? Don't go get it, it's as simple as that. Not everyone likes to/can buy stuff in eBay, and the option wouldn't hurt. It doesn't have to actually be good, as long as it's there it'll please a bunch of nostalgic people, just like many people download all those SFII versions although they could just get SSFIV:AE. It's kinda stupid, but it works. I don't really see what's so hard to understand.
