World game cup 2010

If the maximum amount of teams enter the 5v5, then you're looking somewhere around winning $2900-3500 depending on what the conversion rate is in March. Plus there's still the solo tournament for SC4 and any other tournaments that you decide to enter. Is that not enough motivation? How much money did you think you were going to win to now be disappointed at finding out about the World Cup or was it the idea of having a prize for that tourney as well?

And SC4 singles already has 43 registrants and the registration went live not that long ago.

>>> Well... instead of having around 2000 euros to win at the world team tournament... you have the same amount to win at the team tournament on friday... you can still win it !

This is the SAME rules, I would even said that you don't have "dream teams" in the normal team tournaments, so, it is maybe "easier" lol.

So, what is the difference ? You thought it was 10 000 euros for the world team cup ???

Anyway, it is your choice. I would just add that you cannot think about this trip only on the cash expected, even if it was 20 000 euros, even if you are very strong, you must think about cannes as an event where you have to be. If you win the money... good. But you must appreciate the trip, even if you don't...

I did the math a while back and more when the payouts was announced. The 5vs5 team tournament is bringing in about 600-700 U.S for each member of the team after the equal split since 2400 Euros is about 3400-3500 U.S.

I thought there were funds (more) coming from the Dream Team Tournament (World Game Cup). If it was the same as 5vs5. Then I felt like that would have been 1200-1400 U.S. each member of the team would have come back with since again I feel like we won't lose as long as Thuggish, Me, and RTD are on the team. That alone is enough to not even consider not going unless ur having personal issues.

Finding out that one tournament however has earnings and the other does not means 600-700 is the best ur coming back with unless that one individual also wins the solo coming back with a possible 1300 U.S. after u take out the other 700.00 it costs to be there. That's not even giving me back half the expenses it costs for the entire trip and I don't have funds to throw around like that at the moment. Couple months later sure but not now.

I have traveled to a number of tournaments not caring for the most part if I lose out on some funds just for the experience. But a 1400 U.S. investment (possible more) is no joke. Not to mention that I won't even get to enjoy this experience in vacation terms because I have to get back in a hurry for school, work, and I don't have the kind of funds to spend what I would want to go visit places out there etc. Nor do I have the funds to get my girl out there to experience it with me. So it really just comes down to me going out there strictly for the tournament which is lame as I would love to enjoy France. So me winning money does play a role in my decision.

To even enjoy the experience out there I would need at least 600 U.S since we lose out on money once we get out there. Unless I just want to get the cheap experience (just the tournaments and some basic food) I can just go out there with 300.00 which to me sucks but I can do it. My ticket is actually paid in full if I choose to go.

Aheda:

I apologize. Hopefully I will run into u at another event in the future.

S-U: So you're not going then?

Thugish: How about you?

To be honest, I didn't notice there were 2 team tournaments (5vs5 and World Team). I figured only the World Team would be advertised along with Singles. Plus, the fact that 5vs5 has cash prize and not World Team makes it look like 5vs5 was the more important one, which might explain why I didn't notice 2 team tournaments at first.

S-U : Fun part is my ticket was bought about 14 hours before your post....

Sigh..

Oh well.. Me vs Hayate 1st to 10... Winner = KILIK OF THE WORLD..
You go main Sets :P

I thought there were funds (more) coming from the Dream Team Tournament (World Game Cup).

>>> Well, I get your point but it was not written anywhere...

About the 2 teams tournaments, it was written in all our official posts, since the beginning, and on the official website, I cannot do more....

Quote from my own post, on this forum, which you can find upside this page :

Notes:
- every tournaments are solo tournaments (except if specified)
- only the main event tournaments are doted with cash prices
- the world team cup of Soulcalibur 4 is an exhibition independent from the main event with its own dotation
- all the king of fighters tournaments are organised on arcade

Then, I also say that there are 3 SCIV events, the solo one, the 5vs5 one and the world team one. Then, only the first 2 are main events with cash prize. So, it was just under your eyes since the first day...

Then, the solo and the 5vs5 tournaments ARE the main events tournaments. But, for french players, and most of the foreigners, even if there is no money (but a cup, and some dotation) to earn in the world team cup, everyone know that this is the main show of the competition, question of pride.

But well, I understand perfectly your money issue, no problem.

ah ah, there was no such things, just some little flamewares on forums...

Anyway, the france team was selected today, after a team tournament, so, the best have won, that is it.

Videos will be soon available on the WGC's website.

Anyway, here is the official french team :

Saitoh (capitaine) - Asta
DTN - Yoshi
Scud - Ivy
Keysona - Mitsu
Maxou - Setsu
Kira - Cervy
Ahriman - Voldo
Dina - Hilde

Note :
This team has defeated the Keev and kayane's team in the final.

Well, to sum-up, there was a team contest, to decide the french team.

In the final, the Saitoh's team, including DTN, has defeated the Kayane's team including keev.

DTN vs Kayane, and Keev vs DTN were very closed matches, and both Kayane and Keev played very well, nevertheless, this time, DTN was the strongest. I guess, he wants his revenge from 2004 againt USA looool

Anyway, Kayane and Keev will still play on the friday's team cash prize contest, and the solo tournament of course...

Too bad also for Malek, who really deserves his place in the French team, but his team was also beaten by Saitoh's team in the tournament...

Well good luck to our official team, it won't be easy ^^

Is this some kind of joke? I'm very disappointed. Selecting team FR like this in a TEAM tournament, where best players have to fight each other and be left out.

I respect other players on the team, but this is not true team france.

If you face me with this team... pray that Dina's Hilde save you. B/c when you will cry : "Keev! Kayane!! Malek!!! Save us!!! Belial is OCV'ing us!!! Please! HELP!" But nobody will answer your call... nobody will help you... you will realize your mistake, but it will be too late...

Haha. I love you Belial. <3 <3 <3

A team contest for team france was the choice of the community.

Firstly, we tried to select a "dream team" by giving the responsability to one coach. He had to cope with a lot of problems, and then, decided to resign.

Then, the french community voted to chose its way of selectionning the french team : the team contest was the result.

Then, the Saitoh's team won it.

In fact, we had to come a solution because the dream team you talk about... was just a dream for many reasons.

But be sure that the French team you will fight, will be a very strong opponent...

Like the Maginot Line, this seems like a good idea, but when we walk around you and take control, reality will set in.

Thats what i call argumentation. :D
Some of these players are not well known outside of the francophone community but dont worry they are good. But yea Keev and Kayane would have been a nice addition to the lineup. (i didnt say Malek because Scud is actually the best Ivy in France)

Damn, I would love to go, but I just got married and getting married is expensive hehehehe.
Good luck to pleople attending, and damn, I only hope that an latinamerincan rep be there.
Regards from Mexico to all the good people from France that I was able to meet in nats. Good luck in your event
