SCTier: APEX and SCR 2013 Aftermath

It’s time for the first post-tournament podcast by SCTier! In the guise of killing two birds with one stone, we covered both SCR 2013 and APEX, featuring Xephukai and The Jimbonator as guests respectively. We also have Greatone and a shady mystery guest to express their views and entertain you. These podcasts will typically talk about the event itself, how it was presented, and the behind the scenes not caught on stream.

For those of you who are not in the know yet, SCTier is a budding Calibur de facto project designed to keep the community up to date on tournament listings, coverage, tutorials, and all things Calibur. At the head of SCTier you have your very own SCPartisan and Xephukai.

Yuuuuup, time to talk about dat last-stage character! I know feelings about Algol are strong on both ends, so we'll see what you guys think about this discussion. For this episode, I brought on a name you guys know all too well, BrewtusBibulus. A lot of people respect him not only for his play but for his knowledge of the game, and since he's has some decent success with Algol, I felt it was a good fit.

Confession: I actually put this up the other day and COMPLETELY forgot to post it here. That's my bad, as they say. Such are the rigors of being busy. :( Enjoy, all the same!

That's right, time to talk about my favorite character in the game. I mean, look at those swords. Look at that hat. And the chest? Forget about it; YOU don't stand a chance.

I brought back Hates, who's been kind of quiet as of late (and he explains why a little bit), to tell us just how manly and awesome this character actually is. Oh, and I'm very much digging the nickname for this episode. I think I'll start doing that more. Enjoy!

Holy snaps, we got another one in before the new year! I have to admit, this is a character I've been very interested in but haven't had enough motivation to actually research myself.

Thankfully, I can lean on the pros, in this case Reptile, well known for his proliferate abilitiy with the lizardman. He had an excellent showing at the recent event NEC, so if you want that knowledge,

Been a while since we've talked some Calibur, but that's how things go sometimes. We are back, though, and talking some Ivy. KineticClash was kind enough to share his strats on the big-bosomed, ageless wonder.

Also, for you Twitter fiends, I forgot to mention in the episode that I finally got around to making one. If you use Twitter, please follow me. Link is in the post. Enjoy!

'Bout that time again, eh chaps? And I think it's taken long enough to get to Patroklos, one of the most played characters that you'll see in the competitive scene. For this episode, I thought it would be wise to bring on DrakeAldan, someone whose series of guides have helped a great deal of new players.

As with the other character episodes, we did a quick first-to-five and I recorded an additional, short recap video of what we discussed in case you don't have time to listen to the full episode and want to get started with the character sooner. Enjoy!

This episode we take a look at Siegfried, a fan favorite and a character many have been clamoring for. To make this episode ultra-dynamic, I brought on two guests: Heaton and Partisan. Heaton, in particular, had plenty to say, both good and bad.

If you're looking to step up your game and boost your character knowledge, you'll want to hear what these guys have to say. Their ability to easily springboard off each other's words will certainly entertain you.
