SoulCast #16: Pyrrha

Like clockwork, it's time for another SoulCast! For this episode, I take a look at Pyrrha with guest Xephukai, a player who's had great tournament success, including EVO and the more recent MLG Summer Championship, and whose name I'm sure you've heard a few times.

Also, this episode debuts my new ft5 challenge to all my guests, which I hope serves as a good demonstration of the things we discuss in the podcast, if nothing else. Should be entertaining for you, either way. That's how match vids go, right?

August 24th- Aug. 27th, While America had it's own major tournament (MLG), in Germany, East Brandenburg Open (EBO for short), was also going on. Big names such as Ring, Hyrul, Malek, Pantocrator, daGOTTh, JAG, and others that can be viewed further into the article, were battling it out for the "champion" title of EBO.

With the aftermath proving to be in Ring's favor, I thought I'd catch up with some of the top placers via EBO. As well as posting the results, links towards the videos, and pictures taken by our very own community members all the way from Germany.

We're back from a little bit of a hiatus (busy schedule, what can I say?), but to make up for it we recorded a pretty lengthy episode this time around. kAb joins me in discussing Natsu, and much like he did for our Tekken podcast, the man came prepared with plenty of notes.

The former sexiest gamer alive is guaranteed to hand you the knowledge you need... no, the knowledge you deserve. Enjoy!

Second on my list of characters is one you will see very often in tournaments: Mitsurugi. For this episode, I managed to get some time with Mateo_Galvan, a name many know but someone who doesn't often do interviews.

Arguably the best Mitsu in the States, and possibly the world, he rarely posts in strategy forums, sticking mainly to event threads, so you know you're in for something special. Enjoy!

SoulCast Episode #13: Viola

That's right: We are finally at our character-specific episodes! With all the post-EVO talk about Viola, I figured she was a good place to start. Plus, you need something to pass the time without all the chaos of qualifiers and such, so why not learn something new and/or discuss the game? Gotta flex those brain muscles somehow.

For this first character episode, I brought back LostProvidence to chat some strategy about this very unique character. Enjoy!

Armory is a Soul Calibur monthly e-Zine and community media round up. In this issue we muse upon the results of EVO and speculate on the upcoming MLG matches. Later we'll dive into some Calibur theory and demonstrate how to perform Just Guard. Drake has also written an excellent article on how to handle losing.

It has been a while, hasn't it? EVO, the legendary clashing of titans has come and gone and with it came bizarre results and the fall of France.

SoulCast Episode #12: Something-Unique

EVO is officially done and over with, but that doesn't mean that it hasn't given us plenty to talk about. By now you've seen and read some stuff on the top 2 placers, so it's time to show the US some love and chat with Something-Unique, the top US placer and de facto bronze winner.

We not only chat about EVO and his overall Vegas experience, but we also delve into some meta-game conversation. With Jaxel's ruleset announcement, we had plenty of controversial stuff. As a result, this was a pretty lengthy episode. You don't want to miss this one!
