With the focus of our last episode being MLG, we wanted to get some NCR love before PowerUp this weekend (which will undoubtedly be the subject of our next episode). So, who better to come on the show and expand our vocabularies than your favorite editorialist (or editor, I suppose) and philosophizer?

Hates was kind enough to grace us with his voice and kindly attitude, as well as discuss NCR, SCV, and, of course, random other stuff. As always, links and whatnot after the video, and feel free to get in contact with us if you have any questions; we're always around.

MLG and NCR are now behind us, and continuing on our merry path we HAVE to talk with some folks who were at these events, right? This episode we're focusing on the MLG experience and had a chat with a very well known player, Esom. (Before you ask, that is his real name.) Esom has a ton of knowledge not only from the fighting game community but specifically with Soul Calibur.

Funked and I were really excited to sit down with Esom and grill him on the MLG experience, as well as his matches with the top placers that happened outside of MLG. And, of course, we talk about a lot of random stuff with Calibur, even making a surprise appearance in the 8wayrun chat to take a couple questions.

With Winter Brawl and Final Round in the rearview mirror, and a new patch, MLG, PowerUp, and a slew of other noteworthy events coming down on us at breakneck speed, we felt it was time to finally start a Soul Calibur V podcast. With that, we introduce...

SoulCast

Brought to you by the Video Gaming Federation nerds, SoulCast is essentially the Soul Calibur V extension of a Tekken-related podcast that the VGF already does and has been doing for roughly a year now. That being said, the format of the two series will be similar. What does that mean? Well, eventually we will start recording character-specific episodes that center around the strategy and discussion of one character only. In addition, we'll bring on a guest that knows the character in-depth, has had success in tournaments and/or is a respected voice in the community, and (more likely than not) is someone you've heard of.

Because SCV is so new, however, we want to give the game a little more time to mature before we...
