EVO: Show up for the finals, jerks.

I think top 8 was GREAT... and the booing of these "broken" characters brought some brevity to the scene, especially because they lost. Obviously they are not "broken" to the onlookers who don't play Soulcalibur, because they didn't win. They are stoppable, and because of this, maybe they will think better of the game and it's balance.

There was so much hype going on, and audience interaction that there is NO WAY SC4 won't be at EVO next year. Soulcalibur was kicked out of EVO because it was boring, there were splitting issues, and generally it made for a game that had no hype. This tournament brought us back into the spotlight...

PRINGLES!
 
Well, Hilde is not "broken" if play Tier A characters.....but what if you don't? I think Omega made a good case of that. And although I have no right to say this, Kura did not make into the top 8 simply because he picked Talim. Not saying Hilde is instant win, just saying there are many things that still needs to be fixed. Until SC is good enough that it is at least respected by the players within its "own" community (so far it certainly isn't), kiss evo staff's ass will do little to make the soul series better. Good games need to start from the root, sugar coating will only do so much and it will rot in the long run.

and omega could have played better vs ceirnian, his basic approach had a good idea but seemed like he didn't work out some fatal details. lack of hilde exp it looked like to me
 
I think the finals were great. Just 2 Hildes and none of them made top 3 which points out that Hilde is beatable. Just more patience, I guess. Proved that it really takes more work than usual.

Then about the commentary, big respect, it was informative and fun and entertaining. Sure it still could use a little more work but all in all good job.

Honestly, think about it. Why should Hilde continue to be allowed after what happened? Hilde abusers must be put on the defensive now. If they can't even win with such broken characters, they don't deserve another chance to play so unfairly. KDZ proved a point. But that should only mean brokeness is something to be banished, NOT ENCOURAGED!

I firmly believe that such a glorious moment of eliminating 2 Hildes in a tournament is not something that will just become normal now. This was a SPECIAL moment in history, and it will never happen again...unless, maybe...we are in times of absolute desperation. BAN THE BITCH NOW. Punish the posers, reward the warriors!!!

Seriously, can't you BanWagon people grow up? Or at least make logical conclusions as to why the ban is warranted? Doom combo is not a reason.
Picking Hilde and using her step whiff punish is not a tactic that beats all other tactics to any exclusion.
You suck and need to learn how to play. Seriously get over your own incompetence and actually use your god damn brain.
 
There is not a single char in the game that is "ban" worthy. All can be beaten. All have a weakness. I think people, especially in the SC community, misinterpret a top player like Omega using a shitty char, and a top player like RTD using a top char, or like TX knew but many didn't a top tier IVY being used a rock solid top player. If you pick a shitty char and can't win, don't hate the people who pick top tier chars and win. If you don't like your char, move the arrow until it's pointed over somebody else, then press start, it's that simple. I'm SO glad KDZ proved what many have known all along, she is VERY beatable.
 
I think the bitch is getting the ban or namco will finally patch her. Namco officials heard our opinion and the whole crowd wanted her to lose.

Malek had to completely change his play style just to beat hilde. He never left SW mode simply because he couldn't afford it. Is hilde beatable? Yes. But the means to beat her drastically cripple the game. Had the Hilde's won it would've been a boring event. Even worse Hilde vs Hilde finals would've been the most boring thing to ever watch. It takes away the fun of the game. And in the words of Belial:

"What's your problem with Hilde"
"She's just retarded"

No mention of Doom Combo...she's just short bus tier.

Evo was exciting because after a bullshitty Doom Combo for the 15th time, these players would beat the crap out of her. It was an uphill battle all the way and the crowd loved it. Patch 1.04 BABY!

Namco officials were there? You saw them taking notes? Cause if you did, I'm sure they were very pleased to know you were booing the game they put a lot of time into making. There are ways to tell Namco we are not happy w/a game, booing loudly on the world championship stage is not one of them. And how much sense does it make to COMPLAIN about a game, yet demand it's on the big screen again next year? Help me out on that one please, I'm lost?

NOW that Hilde didn't even get top 2, a couple of you STILL want to ban her? Is blocking THAT hard? She's not exactly Voldo w/the CF game going for her.

Do you think top players sit down, roll the dice and whoever has the best playstyle loses? Good players have a style and stick w/it and lose. Great players have a style and if it's not working, they ADAPT! That's why Malek made me and many other people believers in him because he maned up and adapted. I'd rather see the better gamer win, I don't care HOW he does it, rather then dumb down the game to make it easier for people to play or watch.

Players have to adapt of course, but he was limited to VERY few options. It was the right way to beat her, but that's the whole issue with her fucking the game up. Is it fun to watch 5 moves come out repeatedly against her to win because every other move is too risky while that bitch can do as she pleases?

Hilde is beatable, but because of the Doom Combo's, the steps to do it make the game retarded. I even predicted she wouldn't make top 2. Not out of hope and hate, but because i knew they would be practicing for that bullshit.

And once again, you obviously weren't there...the booing helped because when she went down for that crap, the crowd loved it. WE LOVE SEEING HILDE LOSE AFTER WINNING WITH DOOM COMBO. Now stop picking apart small things and trying to make scrub arguments. I'm far from a top level player, but it's pretty apparent to everyone of all skill levels that shit needs to go.

People defending Hilde's have no clue wtf their talking about and have yet to make a valid point. Can she be beat? Yes. Can the Doom Combo be avoided? Yes. Can everyone elses stuff be avoided? Yes. Can everyone else win 90% of the time from 1 mistake? No...but she can. Thats' the issue. Any other character makes a mistake they get punished and have to fight there way back or they at least need to be mindful of their stage position for RO...but hilde ends a fight only one mistake most of the time. NO ONE GETS THAT ABILITY BUT HER...cept algol infinite...but thats another day.
 
Don't some of you ever get tired of complaining? This was an awesome tourney!!! The pool C oddsmakers, Zas, Oof and Link not getting out of their pools, Mamba eliminating Oof, KDZ pulling off the "impossible" 2 matches in a row, Alpha Male, Alpha Male vs Omega, Malek pulling it all off!!! Whew!!! All that and a revitalization of SC4, at least for me and many others. The crowd was into it, and if you weren't there you could stream it! WTF could you complain about!!!!????

OOH people booed!!! Yeah yeah, people get booed, get over it. I suppose ball players should quit cuz people chant "AAAIIIIR BAALLL" if they shoot one, or its gonna make basketball look bad.

And I thought ChaCha did just fine. Maybe they give him one more person who knows SC4 so he doesnt have to explain everything, but he did a good job and is quite a leader in his community and ours, regardless of his player ability.

For real, this stuff gets old. Enjoy it for what it was, or be a part of a solution.

Think i'm done arguing with you. I think hilde's fate is sealed with a patch and future bans if not and most the community backs me. People at evo disagree with your thoughts on the booing, and really your nitpicking just for the sake of arguing. You weren't there, you have no clue what your talking about. "You're just retarded"

and for the record, I never played Hilde in the tourny or at evo at all...but i beat one in an MM. I have only ever been beat by OOF online in serious lag (he would smoke me offline anyway...but the lag was like a full second just to make it that much easier too Doom Combo set up.). I have no OMG hilde beat me story, it's just obvious.

And the reason "the crowd loved it" wasn't because she's broken. It's because the vast majority are SF players who more than likely would have said SC4 is a shit game and bag wins from RO anyway. You'd get the same response if you just booed when anyone rung out. No I wasn't there, but I was watching in the live stream reading the chat logs. The atmosphere inside the arena might be electric, but BEING there wasn't the only thing that counts. You had about 2 maybe 3 thousand people there. then you had about 10000 people watching on the stream. your EXCUSE that because I'm not there doesn't hold if the larger audience watching was also NOT THERE.
You sir are retarded in thinking that she's gonna be banned when she didn't even win and if there is a patch, the fact doom combo has already been nerfed just means that. The combo is getting a nerf. But for fucks sake, they haven't realeased the patch yet. Learn to play it as it is and get over yourself.

You could have a character with a gimp leg and 100hp health bar and as long as they have a 1 shot KO, I'd still say they need banning. Why? A hilde player can make several mistakes and come back from it. Every other character rarely gets more than 1. This is the issue. Should a character be allowed this sort of advantage? If we were to make a case of "first to punish 3 times wins", I'd say hilde would get owned. You can beat here silly...but you'll have to repeatedly do it. She just needs 1 good shot and fuck whatever health she's at. A 10% HP hilde vs a 100% whatever is still and neck in neck match in most cases.

Now argue that.

I doubt most people that are good at this game want her banned. I was in the chat the last 2 days, only 2 people out of everybody she should be banned. If she gets patched, that's cool. She doesn't need it though. Sorry bro, you're in the minority w/the "let's ban hilde". You can hide behind the "you weren't there" logic all you want my man, it's cool.
