I completed it for the first time on Saturday. I won't spoil anything, so don't worry. I was in 2nd place for time completed though, and 5 mins later I was 9th, and by the time I woke up the next morning, I wasn't even on the list anymore lol. I was 28th in total souls as well. I didn't even know this. Someone messaged me at random asking for help, and I was like, "where do you know me from?" and he said from my statue, so I asked what place was I in, since you're not able to check the leaderboard statues right when you begin a new game, and he said 2nd. So I logged on one of my other characters that I was going to try as well, and by the time I did that, and got up to the top of the Nexus, I was in 9th.
Priests in pvp suck ass lol. Their offensive miracle spell called God's Wrath is an AOE that takes forever to cast. You can be in someones face, cast this spell, and they have plenty of time to dash away. Priests are really only effective in groups. It is more likely that you'll get this spell to hit if the invading phantom is busy attacking someone else. There's even a ring that increases miracle spell damage, AND IT INCREASES CASTING TIME TOO. Wth? On top of all of that, the spell costs 100MP to cast. I only have 146MP right now. So it's not like you can spam-and-pray.
I think they wanted priests to suck at 1v1 in pvp or something. Either that or you really gotta trick someone hiding around the corner with that spell. But, you can hear the spell being cast so they have plenty of time to avoid it. Hell, I've had several people completely oblivious that I was hiding behind a wall, walk right past me while I'm casting the spell, and they are out of range by the time it goes off. I even cast that shit before they get close to me. It really seems like you gotta time that trick well, and that trick won't last for long. People will catch on. Then what am I going to do? They only have ONE offensive spell. The rest are your typical priest shit, and the worse part, they can only be cast on yourself. I can't cast heal on a blue phantom. The only thing I can do, is ressurect them, but when I do that, they leave my world, and what if I need their help lol? Priests have some issues. That ring should decrease casting time for reals.
I can't say that they are the hardest class to play. Because I haven't played anything else, but they are certainly hard to solo stuff. I soloed everything in the entire game except for the archdemon in Boltarian Palace and died a total of 219 times my entire first run through. I think I've died about that much the 2nd time running though, and I haven't even completed an archway yet.
That spell I was thinking of before with the pilar of fire is a mage spell. It casts waaay faster too. God's Wrath is like a bubble, so that wasn't it. Just wanted to correct myself.
I'd also like to add to what Jaxel was saying about the blue and black phantoms, keep in mind that someone invading your game is close to the same level as you are. it goes the same with people that you summon. I'm not sure of the exact ammount where it seperates, but maybe Jaxel does.
Jeuce, you can or you can't use them? Either way, they will always hold a bigger sword over their shoulder, no matter how strong you are. If you aren't able to use them, go to your items list, and press square, look at the stats on the left with the symbols signifying STR, DEX, ect... below that are numbers. If the number is in red, that means you don't have enough of that particular stat to use it yet, and you'll have to level that up in order for it to be more effective. I hope I understood you correctly.
