Hilde/Algol are officially banned from majors, what you do at home don't matter, noone cares. And on record, nothing has ever been banned officially in SC4 until several days ago. GGs, well fought.

See the top 13? that shows CLEARLY that that character (in this case the Americans) are broken in Civilization. (yes, i play that game...it's awesome)

so my questions becomes this: If you would replace those names with Hilde, would you be this defensive when it comes to banning the character?

But it's time to let this go and move on. If someone has a better solution, let's hear it. I think most of you rather go back and forth instead of listening to each other and proposing a solution. Just look how silly this thread has become.

Honestly, the only thing that is really going to bring people back is an entirely new game. But SC4 still has alot of life in it and I still want to see tournaments for it. Does anyone else?

And who knows what could happen if you guys think of the big picture and stop attacking each other.

I don't think it's too hard. I think they're testing it right now with tekken 6.

If it happens, that would be wonderful, especially from a business standpoint. Plus I wish they would have done that a long time ago, however the developer is in Japan, the Japanese don't play Calibur like that, and more Japanese play Tekken. So I don't see it happen unless they happen to develop a love for this game overnight.

But they haven't listened to us now, and I am not expecting them to, but it would be great if they listened to some of our concerns since the US is the largest market for SC.

Jesus Christ! How many times do I need to say this, the ban has NOTHING to do with tiers or "brokenness"! Amy, Voldo and Kilik are arguably better than Hilde; but we're not bring up banning them are we? This ban is about FUN.

SC4 is probably the most balanced game in the series. But as I've said before, Hilde ban has nothing to do with balance; it has to do with keeping up people's enjoyment with the game. Yes, the EC community is smaller than it was 6 months ago when we started the ban, we EXPECTED this. But how much smaller would the community be now, if Hilde was still around? TWO major EC monthlies have been cancelled, and FOUR tournaments have sprung up to take their place. Show me another community with this dedication.

I've said many times that the ban is not expecting to "bring people back"; its about staving off the rate of exodus in favor of other fighting games. Its not that EC keeps on playing, its that now more than ever, people WANT to play. People are enjoying the game, and there is a lot less bickering and saltiness during tournaments. I'll take that over holding up the "integrity" of the game any day. If you can't understand the motives of this ban, and keep on going on about "balance", when it has NOTHING to do with balance... stop posting.

So then a top player should say... okay, Hilde has been banned... I guess I should switch to Amy or Voldo. Amy and Voldo are better than Hilde anyways; but as I said before, the ban has nothing to do with balance. Its about making sure we get the turn-out and the enjoyment of the game. Sure, the "pros" know that Amy and Voldo are the tops; but when a scrub loses to those characters, they don't feel cheated, they just feel like they got PWNED. When a scrub loses to Hilde, they lose their interest as well.

I won't say what parts are amusing and/or absurd, but I'm just viewing it as "if a NB dude stopped by and viewed opinions of what hardcore fans want to improve Soul Calibur on." I know it seems absurd for me to think like this, but I sometimes get a feeling that one of them may have seen some thread similar to this.

I forgot, NamcoBandai is about that chedda, and the hardcore market for SC is so minuscule compared to the amount of players who play casually that bought this game, so I am not holding my breath on them reaching out to us.

So it's up to us to make sound decisions that keep people playing this game. I just wish this was done sooner rather than later, but better late than never.

Its DINO the man with the least credibility on this site. I might piss people off but my word is greater than urs Mr. Kilik is weak cause he is telegraphed yet proceeds to lose to me at Rumble In The Tundra (in terms of credibilty i'm referring to). I claimed u weren't on my level boldly and its just another factor that came true. These bans will not do more good. They will do more harm (another bold claim) but I'll tell u I have accepted it because well its done but I seem to be right for the most part when it comes to this game. SC image has been weakened even more (side mission accomplished as a result of bans).

I just have to comment on one other issue. Mr. Donation (Me) ended up receiving a completely 100% payed off free flight for what its worth. Guess i'm valued and it was offered I might add. The individual and or individuals I received it from will forever be in my good faith with help. I'm righteous like that just like I am for the people I feel is being disrespected. So color me blind for sticking up for other people even if its a waste of time.

Then again I don't think u have a presence in the SC4 tournament scene as a statistic for SC4 (not referring to skill). Referring to ever have been showing up to a tournament or tournaments for SC4 so it would make sense u would tag along with the bans cause u lose nothing.

In the end I have accepted the bans because well its gonna happen over here at least. I have moved on. I'll just make decisions around them that cater to me since while I may be focused on one particular aspect that may be selfish to others. I know some agree. Vice Versa on the flip side. Just like I don't care who hates me or dislikes me cause on the flip side there are those who don't.

It is what it is but at the end of the day these decisions will effect this community as a whole either negatively or positively until the restart begins in SC5. I see downhill from here personally.

Me an Idle actually have no fuck u beef for what that's worth also. Also my controversial behavior is actually good for this community believe it or not love me or hate me. Just look at this thread and its views and the many things that ended up being accomplished for better or worse.

I hate jumping in to these debates since I'm not that active in the community as I'd wish to be and not quite as good as I'd want be but what the hell. The whole ban thing is complicated. And no I'm not all that experienced vs Hilde but I've witnessed how things have gone for some people who are. Despite what people will claim dominating an entire match but continuosly losing over a few small screw ups is not fair plain and simple. Yes that happens vs other characters to but not at the same rate. Should Hilde have been banned, yes but only on certain stages.

As it is the community seems to be small. All the people who were unwilling to play because of Hilde are gone(although losing them hurt numbers). A lot of people still hate Hilde but play regardless because like most on this site they love the game. So the question is who are we gaining with the ban? Who would we have lost without it? Before any ban was announced people were already talking about coming out to support gamme.

No matter what is done some people will be pissed off. My solution, as few have stated, try a stage ban and only allow a handful of stages. I know it's an old idea but it would cater to everyone. Why not try it at a local tournament and see how it goes? It's kind of a better alternative than to discard players who have stuck with the community.

SU: As you should, and as i stated earlier, i was pretty hammered. However, i didn't want to edit that post after i sobered up. As far as my lack of travels. I just recently had a kid, so it kept me grounded for awhile. Nats and Evo came too close to the delivery. (like 2 weeks away).

anywho, i cant make it to GAMME because agustin's getn Married, therefore our only major we're going to in the near future is Devastation.

look at this point i'd support a ban on certain characters OR a ban on binding. i think no harm could come from either. yes a bind ban would be more practical, but yes it would make more people cry.

bottom line is i am not running this show, and the people who have taken initiative and are doing so...well they get to make the decisions because they are the ones holding the offline community up in the first place. tghe debate is over. it was long ago.

at this point, please do one of 2 things...accept the rules as presented and support the tournaments, or stfu and play online or something.
