Well, here's the bottom line, 95% of the community that plays SCIV, or any fighter for that matter, agree that whining about grabs is scrubfucktastic. Everyone who's met/played/seen Thugish knows he's outstanding at the game. 4% of the community are scrubs who find every excuse as to why they suck (i.e. Crying about grabs, ROs, match ups, etc.) Then, the last 1% of the community are people who cry & find excuses to make themselves believe they don't suck, and to top it all off- make a video with them raging (i.e. Jorn, Dr. pepperage). So with that, let's not let a kid who who cries via videoblog about a tourney he didn't go to, ruin our DEV thread?

Don't mind it, Thugish is supposed to be despised. Since SC3 hell I don't know about SC2 but definitely SC3...his reign is long and painful for many...until someone stops him you should expect this. lol

Most feared and most despised person in the SC universe is Thugish_Pond, now you know.

ok guys. this thread HAS gotten out of hand. the reality of it is, thought, that it has also brought up some much needed and much wanted hype and grudges for the next couple of upcoming events. also...LOL at that video. missingperson...props for making me smile, and i really hope you take this as an opportunity to go to an upcoming event (FSAK in september or NEC in december) and PROVE that you are far better than thuggish_pond.

that said...lets keep the hype going! bubbles, hoodrat guy, everyone else seeking to ruin a good time by trolling...do us all a favor and just stay out of it.

Its gonna take more than a week. Expect about a month or so. There is a process to sort out prizes. It isn't just cash and thats all. They have an account that the checks come from, sponsors and others that put money in the pots, taxes and other issues to handle on their end, and on top of that these people are working professionals. Have some patience on the pots arriving in your pocket. They will email you or contact you on 8WR. Just its not a same week turnaround. The money will come.

I didn't have enough time to get up to speed with a new character after the Hilde ban before Devastation but good job to everyone!

I still think it's funny how Amy has dominated SC4 since it's been out and Hilde has never won a BIG major but somehow she gets banned after 2 years of SC4's release date.

Even Thugish tried to use Hilde at Evo and lost.

Now you got Amy placing 1st and 3rd at a major like this? I really hope you ban happy whores have learned your lesson.

anyway, that's alright though.

It's worse for everyone now. Y'all can have Hilde. Now I'm playing with a character like Thugish that has no weaknesses.

Soon, you all will come to regret your impulsive and irrationals decisions.

Hilde is dead. The name is...

Amy wasn't banned 2 years after this game's release. That was done last year when the game was pretty much dead in most places in America. After EVO, people said fuck this game, so if something wasn't done, there wouldn't have been a SC4 tournament at Devastation this year, or it would have been an 8 man tournament like Marvel. 34 people for SC4 is a great thing seeing that there hasn't been a SC4 on the west coast in a long time.

Plus the ban at Devastation was announced back in February. I'm sure that if it wasn't in place, then there wouldn't have been much interest in the SC4 tournament to get people to travel to Phoenix to enter the tournament, nor would it have been as hype as it ended up being, or have people interested in this game now that Devastation is over.

Plus I am sure thugish & Dreamkiller would have just tier whored with someone else and done well in the tournament. Amy just makes it easier to do so. But Noface beat thugish & Dreamkiller back to back to reach the grand finals, so that little whore can be defeated.

But to say that the decision was impulsive and irrational is mad wrong when the debate was going on right at the beginning of this game's life cycle and should have been done before we started losing people to Street Fighter. If there was a better way, we'd be doing it by now.

And I shouldn't be the only one up here preaching, but I love Calibur and want to keep it alive which is why I went to Devastation in the first place. And it's good to see people regaining an interest in this game after Devastation.

And if people want to hop on that Amy train like bitches to win, so be it. Everybody just needs to be well prepared to deal with that little tramp (and Ivy too). :-)

Shhhhhhhhhh

Stop trying to argue sound logic w/the SC community. It doesn't work!

When SC4 got more then both TVC,3's and MVC2 and prolly another game combined.....

Looks like some solid logic to me.

2 things I hear constantly,
1. Calibur Community waves the ban hammer constantly and bans unbroken charecters.
2. Calibur Community whines and are a buntch of bitchs, Basically Whiney Bitchs.

1 of these things is true. How bout we just deal with the meta and not bitch about it?

Seeing as how Calibur 4 is an extremely unbalanced and shitty game. You can't blame people for bitchin an banning.

People can debate whatever, but you cannot argue with results.

Last year, I don't remember SC4 having any hype to it at Devastation. This year, there was hype, along with people having a great time, along with us having more people than some of these other games and would have been more if it weren’t for other factors. On top of that, you have people coming out of the woodwork and showing interest in Calibur again after the conclusion of Devastation. Just look at how many posts and views this thread has received along with the extra silliness like Burger. This thread has been entertaining.

I also have to disagree with anyone who may feel that this community is a bunch of whiners or feel that the ban hammer is being constantly waived because those generalizations are wrong. Plus the blame should be directed at Namco for not showing more support to the game. That’s who I blame, especially for putting an update to the game on the PSP and showing no love to the console version.

But it’s good to see people still into this game now that we are a month away from its second year of release. And hopefully it will translate to more people coming out of the house to get together and play and people traveling to tournaments. Offline Calibur is alot of fun.

I have to disagree, this community is a bunch of bitchy whiny babies. But my thing is i deal with it because it's really the only FG community that i deal with (also, the only FG i play seriously). The banhammer was brought about wrong not once but TWICE.

Calibur 3 would've been easy to deal with since it was PAINFULLY obvious that VC was dumb.
Calibur 4 could've been avoided had there been a committee (hmmmmmm i wonder who gave that idea....)

RTD - i still <3 you

Malice: It's great to have all this enthusiasm, but those of us saying the community is whining babies have been around the glory days of SC2. Compared to that, SC3/4 newcomers are mostly whiny babies and their virus has spread among the pros and veterans.

Sure, Namco could have given it more attention. But really, did we need it? Calibur players couldn't deal with a "you whiff you die" type of char like tekken and SF players deal with EVERY DAY so they whined and cried. Granted, she never won Evo/Nationals but let's ban her anyway. Did it fix anything? Not really. Cause everybody who quit, just used Hilde as an excuse to quit. Not everybody liked the CF system. Or the fact the back dash is gone. People who are going to quit, will do it regardless, so to sum it up, yes, the SC community is full of babies and whiners.

And SC4 had 32 people, what games did it beat out exactly? Madden 10 (with Madden 11 coming out next month)? What great games did it beat out exactly? SSF4 had 200, Tekken 6 BR had 46 and japanese players also (and 46 is low) and HD Remix had more also. I know you love the game, but you are living in fantasy land if you think it's still alive and played enough to warrant big tournaments. Dev had GUARNTEED pot and only 32 showed up. If that isn't your red flag, I don't know what else to tell you.
