To spice things up, according to French matchup-chart Nightmare is much worse than Sieg. They actually put him at the very end of the tier list along with Talim, Yun, Maxi and Mina.
 
Got hatemail last night from Bio.....something. Anyway I was in the room with him, angellicbeast, and another guy and after I get 3 wins the dude boots me. 3 minutes later he sends mail saying 'no offense dude, but you're just boring to play. Yeah I understand those 5 moves you use are safe, WE GET IT. Boring'

Sad part is, this guy probably thinks DustbusterGF360 is the best Maxi he's ever seen because of the wide array of moves he uses, even though 70% of them are either unsafe or reactable strings.

Naw it wasn't him, if I saw his name I'd remember it but since I'm not at my mom's house I can't look at my bro's 360 to confirm who it actually was.

i admit i never had the pleasure to play more than 1 good siegfried offline...
He has awesome damage..but really its unsafe like hell....it may be my matchup but against raph its just a different maxi....A:G:A is not enough to balance him.

I admit that the same cannot be said in other matchups where range prevent retaliations.

Nightmare at least has a mix of TC TS and backstep moves that gives u more chances to evade.
 
Surely fighting a thoughtful Maxi is more of a special treat to the random player as opposed to boring?
Dustbuster makes me lol, I was once beating him to which he responded with 3 consecutive lag lows and RC K - he still lost mind, the guys a joke.

A teleport,
Super damage potential,
Bubble shield,
Good low game,
Best low poke in the game,

Best backstep in the game,
623B, The get out of jail free card,
Bubble INFINITES,
Good ring out game.
If that's not god tier, what is?

Almost every character can deal with the Bubble shield. Algol is A tier.
The only reason he is banned in FR is because he's a boss. In the US he was banned because the mere idea of him being allowed was pretty much a bleeding player hemmoridge, because people just looked at the character and said "no, not in my calibur please".

He isn't broken, He's just stupid.

Enjoy your argument with Bubbles, since I know your not going to listen.

Wow I must suck alot then. Lol isnt even top tier.. Are you trolling?? Its not just about getting around the bubbles its also about how much time it takes to work your way in properly for alot of characters. Its just something that shouldnt be a part of the game. Im glad I just found out im a scrub tho. thx. I wonder what that makes the rest of the community.

Believe it or not, I am listening to you, I'm well aware that the bubble can be dealt with, the issue I take is that first you have to shut down his bubble game and keep it shut down, then the fight is a fight, but even without it he still has a plethora of insanely useful tools - even without bubbles he'd be A tier, with them he's god tier, to my mind at least.
And lest we forget his infinite combos, I'd hardly say he was balanced. Personally, I find Hilde easier to deal with than Algol, but hey, that's just me.

Most players that complain about algol, are complaining about a 2008 algol strat that RTD first ran.

This is a character that you can't just rush down, with or with out the bubble shield, he can fuck you up. The match-up requires patience and precision. I have had people literally chase me around entire rounds getting combo-ed for whiffing, with me never placing a bubble on the field. lol at Taki players.

The drawbacks with the character., he has hit box issues up close(his 2A goes right through Ivy for example), he's pretty much a five move character (not the safest character around), you have to turtle with him, he can't side step for shit(so he teleports).

Aside from that I think he's high tier without bubbles, and top tier with them.

he has too many bad match ups to be top tier
he loses to raph mina ivy kilik and amy

basically if he gets outzoned(cept amy shes just hard on paper in practice I don't have to much trouble due to 623B)he loses hard since he can't close with the shittiest forward run
compared to the rest of the top tiers which at worst have a 5:5

and actually I have a lot of respect for you which is why I'm even addressing this argument

@ synraii623B 623B is hardly a spammable get out of jail free card it is launch punishable
to land a bubble infinite you realize you have to run at someone and buffer 33B through the run so you don't step,hit them point blank, and hit them crouching with no low threatening enough to make people want to duck?

outside of bubble juggles where does his super damage potential come from? his combos max out at 70.

his RO game is ok it has good utility but bad range aB air hit only ROs point blank and so does WR B 8A+B. 22A/88A looks like they should side RO but they don't

also don't listen to KA he literally just said algol was unsafe

I don't bitch about asura I bitch about all of kiliks options combined with asura . vs raph asura and 4B+K by themselves each nulify %50 of his movelist between the both of them nothing is safe to do, and making an entire movelist unsafe with just 2 moves , a 50/50 guess for 40 or 80 damage is just retarded at least 623B is launch punishable,low damage, and has a REALLY slow TC so highs will CH him more often then not. as opposed to asura where only highs or kicks work and 4B+K goes under all those

WR B 6A+B ab ring out is the same as 1B 2A+B aB
and no bubble juggles only come from WR B PUNISHES the hitbox is weird but the combo maxes at 100 dmg and is very inconsistent and can only work when they end TC'd at -19 or more

some moves that can be WR B punished and bubble juggled are... sieg WR AA and talim WL B
I don't think there are anymore, plus the spacing has to be perfect

lol are you kidding with this? 623B emphasizes more reaction to use, because once you commit you have to deal with the -22 on block.
It doesn't track, it doesn't Tech Jump, maybe it Tech Crouches, it's not a string, you can't even combo of it...other stuff.

Don't listen to bubbles. Algol's bad match-ups are Kilik and Setsuka. Algol is unsafe if you risk some of his rewards...which I do.

I so meant Sophie.
