SoulCalibur V Storyline Theory Thread

They said Sophie/Sieggy endings were going to be canon a while back with the exception of Sophitia's ending being altered slightly to fit the story.

So I'm guessing the alteration for hers was that Pyrrha was not healed, and in his the world was not crystalized?

Yeah pretty much except in like EVERY trailer Sophie is holding SE above her head looking sad and uncertain along with Nighty being killed immediately before or after.

In Siggy's ending, he beats Nightmare and crystallizes himself along with...well...everything?

And in Sophie's ending...oh god, now I'm confused.

I assume Soph is the new Nightmare. And the "Goodbye mother" Pat said in the E3 trailer says something important.

I just hate the thought of her being a possesion of SE. She was always the mother with a pure heart. Her character was strong and conforting like one. I don't know how they can just do that without betting an eyelash. It's horrible.

Why is Pyrrha always in "pain", I wonder, from the vids I've seen, when she wins in one, she runs away. The next time, she collapses onto the ground. Oh dear.

Thats the idea. Do you really think I would like to see a character I adored for her innocent and motherly personality become an evil entity? Honestly, I don't but it seems imminent and if thats how I'm getting my Sophie groove back so be it. Namco wants to see change in the series anyway, so how better to change it? Make a kind and forgiving woman a hellbent freak. If you are a fan of the Game of Thrones book series I could compare this to Lady Catelyn's tranformation into the undead Lady Stoneheart, on a mission of revenge who will kill anyone even related to the families that destroyed her own.

The whole schtick for Sophitia to fight in Nightmare´s side during SC4 is that her Pyrrha will die if SE gets destroyed. Of course, her dilemma really doesn´t go anywhere because in Sophitia´s ending Algol suddenly turns into a Walt Disney character and explains her how motherly love is stronger than everything and removes the problem off her hands altogether.

That said, taking SE for herself would be her best option. She cannot allow it to be destroyed, nor she can allow anyone else to have it for the same reason.

Now, if Nightmare this time around is truly Sophitia, you can bet Namco will be trying to pass her out as a tragic character.

Don't forget, they'd find a way for Sophie to wear ridiculously revealing togas with azure plate armor on her breasts and legs :D

Yeah but Cervantes was already dead so would he still wear the clothes he died in? Or am I making this up? Oh and SohieChan I haven't heard of that book series but I'll look it up. Btw Cassandra was right the whole series, this is Hephaestus's fault. If he didn't call upon her to fight in the gods glory then she wouldn't of gotten in this mess. Then again she wouldn't of met Rothion and had her kids so.... that'd suck. =/

Siggy - Currently reformed his Schwartzwind into a group of mercenaries. Hilde travels with them now - she has two children - but who did she marry? And how did Siggy survive SC 4, since in his ending he crystallizes himself? Or do we follow Hilde's ending instead, where he is pardoned and alive?

He could be assisting Hilde in finding her father, who was M.I.A. 17 years ago.

Mitsu - I guess he's on a Musha Shugyo (warrior pilgrimage) these 17 years, looking for strong opponents to fight with. As usual. Swapped Shishi-Oh for Muchimonji during this time and probably took an oath of poverty.

Astaroth - Not the same Asta from SC 4 most likely?

Maxi - My guess he became Captain of a new crew.

Nightmare - Confirmed but role in story remains unclear. Could Sophita be the new Nightmare? If so, we'd have a female Nightmare, a first for the series.

Pyrrha - She seems to be caught in emotional turmoil. I mean, look at her when she wins in VS matches. (Runs away, collapses onto the ground...) Which side will she take?

I remember this one SC5 trailer were you could hear a voice (simmilar to Soph) saying:

YOU AND I... WILL LIVE FOREVER... MY DEAR...

Maybe that's the dialog from the story mode when Pyrrha or Patroklos is maybe facing Soph. Maybe Soph is overtaken by Nightmare. And when thet defeat her she dies and we get a SUPER serial and sad scene and we're all like BAAAAAAAAAAW!! =,(

I will most probably cry if that happens

If Sophitia didn't do what Hephaestus said she'd be like this

And then Pat wakes up. IT WAS ALL A DREAM!

Wha? Where did you see this?! It sorta makes sense but I thought they already established that his ending isn't all canon. When was Hilde's father M.I.A.? I thought he turned insane and was locked up in a chamber for the rest of his life. As far as I saw Hilde dosen't have any children.

This is what I thought too! =D

Astaroth -

Really? You think so? I sorta think it's the same one... but it could be different.

My guess he became Captain of a new crew.

Maybe. But then why would he be involved with SE this time?

Nightmare

I can't even stress how much I don't want that to happen. >.<

I think she's on her own side. One that yearns for inner peace. Maybe she'll team up with others. But probably only for a short while because she seems like a loner since she grew up like one.
