Awesome I've been toying with his movelist and I know that 2B+K is amazing. It instantly allows attack counter stuns to be done normally after hit. Meaning 2B+K into 66B is a great set up.
Yeah we should rock mirror so you can teach me a few moves.
Well I usually use 2B+K after a run to confuse my opponent when they crouch.
Other than that rock has too many flaws in his move set. His turn-around B+K is slow and easily punished or dodged. He's low tier but not totally unplayable. I just wish he had an Air grab similar to Astaroth's A+G. So far I'm trying to work on his tech traps. I wonder can you tech trap into 236 B+K?
Yeah 2B+K is okay if your opponent doesn't shake stuns. But honestly, if your opponent isn't shaking stuns, you should probably be looking for better opponents. If you do happen to run into such an opponent however, try this stun string. 2B+K, 3A, 66B, 6K, 3A+G or 3B+G.
Run up mid/low mixup isn't really a reliable tactic on or offline. Especially with a move as slow a 2B+K. It probably only works online because most people are used to ducking to avoid throws. Use moves like WS3K, 4A+B, and 22_88K to close distance. From back turned, use either B or 2K. As far as tech traps, 6b leads into 236B+K but it doesn't catch either side. I'd be more than happy to show you a few of my setups though. I'll be on tonight. Hit me up. My gamertag is the same as my username here.
Lol he has nothing but bad matchups. You have to have solid defense to even stand a chance with Rock. I'd advise practicing counters for those character's moves that give you trouble.sweet I get to finally fight a Good Rock player.
I have a question though do you in particular have trouble fighting certain characters like Ivy, Amy, Voldo, Siegfried, etc? Or are you just used to fighting everyone in particular as rock.
It looks as if the character himself have plenty of bad matchups.
I'd say my main Astaroth:
-WR A
-Bullrush bullrush bullrush bullrush bullrush
You won the game.
Nah.
Maxi (Sorry HRD we all know why he's on this list.)
what? WHAT? really?
All the others are button mashers or geniuses in training.
LOL so true.
I can block mitsu's 2kb offline (In fact i can Just impact it a good 65% of the time.) But online even though I see the move but I can't block it in time.
It has to be lag tactics due to the simple fact lag is making my character's reaction to crouch block seem delayed.
Siegfried is all about reading your opponent when fighting him but some of his lows are seldom lag hits as I get caught by the move KNOWING they are going to do it.
As for maxi you're right he has several combo breaks but also like you said most are button mashers. That said aside looking at Maxi's learning curve it's more about his stances compared to mashing A, B, and K. However HRD i personally feel he's easy to use online.
As for tournaments. Nobody host any SCIV tournament's in michigan so I'm pretty much screwed :( And currently i'm in college so I don't have the time truly to go to a tournament unless it happens to be during my break (Winter or Spring).
My real question is this. Why subject yourself to a constricted, waterdown version of this game, when it is possible to play with real people? Now dont give me this "I aint got no one to play with" stuff. Im the poster child for that argument! But if you look hard enough....you can make it happen!!
