[Dec 3, 2011] North East Championships XII (Philadelphia, PA)

That would all depend on how many stations and if FilthyRich lays any ground rules, on top of how long those stations will be up. I'm sure everyone will want to play...I'm also sure those same people who would be 'testing' would try to take some privleged position and stay on those stations. Really can't ask for people to do more than test andmae what observations they can until more details are released. This isn't like the couple of pretests in France where only certain people wereinvited; I'm fairly certan it will be open to the public.

What I'm trying to say is we ought to abolish "winner stays" as a rule and just have each person play maybe say, 2 games then move on. That way there is no onus to win, and agreements between players to test shit out will be easier to manage, and nobody "hogs the machine" for a game that isn't even released yet.

Edit: the reason this is a concern is because people hogging the machine is more or less what has happened at every fighting game location test I've ever been to. I've been on both sides of the coin myself; and the fact is loketests are there for 2 reasons:

1) To Build hype for the game.
2) To be a public advertisement for Namco's community practices.

1 sorts itself out by being there, as long as everyone gets a shot at playing.
2 on the other hand, we have a role in, because we are the community that Namco is trying to support. Giving a good impression based on fairness and feedback would serve us better in the long run than devolving back to our "roots" for a game that isn't even out yet.

Well, hopefully with the time I get I would want to make a quick movelist video for my 2 characters (similar to the one that came out for Zwei a couple months ago.)
Anything else, would be dependent on what exactly is it that u want to test.

Lets say you and I were playing on the loketest machine. There is nothing at stake, I have no problem letting you win 2 rounds testing out and getting a movelist out, then you do the same for me, last round we goof off a bit and fiddle with some combo stuff or whatever.

If were limited to 2 games apeice regardless of who won; then it wouldn't even matter what we did in the last round either. That way you get what you want, I get to test what I want, we get videos to upload and everyone is happy.

We are mainly curious about a few moves that are either missing or no one else knows how to do. I can get into detail a little bit after I get a little info from the other Maxi guys about what they want to!!

What a great oppurtunity for us. Im very excited for yall. And will be glued to the stream all weekend long!

thanx DK

I'll be playing Pyrrha and Ivy. Maybe Hilde just to see how garbage she really is cause she looks like she went from way overpowered to flat out trash from earlier testings. I'll probably play more but that's about it on my side of testings. I'll actually be enjoying the game during the time given to me by the people actually giving us the time to play it.

I'm testing Leixia's full moveset.

If anybody can, please bring a camera in case I can't get my hands on one.

MALICE/JAXEL/HUBBS/whoever else:
Also, would it be ok if I bring my laptop/recorder to record matches outside of stream? I can put them on the site after the event is over. Honestly, I'd bring my entire setup (recording equipment + evo monitor + xbox/ps3), but I get the feeling that it's not a good idea to take a monitor and console on the plane there.

Hilde was considered trash when the game (SC4) first came out. Then Doom Combo happened...then people realized her ridiculous step, den she was bant.

I don't care how things are handled, so long as people get a chance to play. Other than that, I'll test things that aren't the general mechanics of the game when it's actually released. =P

So... can we as the community not misuse this chance to play SCV and turn it into some kind of competition over letting people play, give research and feedback to make it a better game rather than letting our inner arcade-nerd machine hog take over this opportunity?
No...

But I digress, unfortunately it's looking like I'm pretty much not going to be able to make it to this. A family issue came up and it's looking more and more like I'm going to have to deal with it. So I wish you all good luck and the best of times. I hope to see many videos and all the things of that nature.

For real?

Yeah, I forgot to mention it the first time. I actually bought that game day one. SoulCalibur was sold out day one...so I rented it on day 3. :(

I like how fast you form an opinion when you have absolutely nothing to back it up.

Better question. What do u have to back up that she's not. I formed an opinion based on the same shit u read (impressions) or saw (videos provided to us). Seriously some of u try to hard to single me out. It's funny cause I know a few other top players whom I've discussed this with that have pretty much the same opinion. You do realize its just like u said an opinion right? Based on the same shit u saw or read she looks garbage to me (my opinion based on what is known thus far).

I would give u some examples as to why I believe this but ill keep that reserved for the people I currently discuss this with that I know understand how u measure a characters qualities based on what u know so far

Omar, man, you know why you're singled out, right? Because you take it all so seriously. You're so quick to defend yourself, and too adamant about it. Even when you post to act non-chalant or act like it doesn't get to you, it's sort of just further evidence that it does.

It's like elementary school, kids tease the kids who it bothers the most.
