Hahaha alright. Oh if you haven't seen this one movie called Redline, you need to. The story is lacking a bit since there's barely any, but the amazing animation and pure effort put into making this film beautiful and exciting is well worth your time.

Redline took 7 years to make. The story is rather cliche and all, but man did it get me pumped until they ended it nicely after all that racing madness. I liked it for what it was though.

So go into it with the expectations of Final Fantasy The Spirits Within. I can't hate it because the animation was excellent (this was 2001..) but I don't love it because the story falls flat on its face.

i liked it better than advant children. i was confused throughout the whole movie. i know that the hardcore fans would get it but then that's restricting your audience.
 
Honestly I watched the whole movie too distracted by its beauty and badassery that I didn't mind the lack of story.
Edit: And yeah I watched Advent Children and didn't get it one bit. It looked pretty though.

People will crucify me for this but I didn't like it. Sure the CG was nice but what isn't these days (don't talk about Birdemic). Characters, blah, story, meh, fights, we've seen them before. Apparently you need to play the game.

Serenity has the same problem, you need to watch Firefly to get the characters. But the difference being Serenity and Firefly are good.
 
I'm going to start reviewing anime. Starting from the late 80's to modern.

I'm starting with:

Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water.

The Matrix, the third one. Which for the record is completely "hilarious to see." Remove the compact-car-sized swords and there you go. Really, that movie is baaaad, like MST3k bad.

Maybe you need to play Final Fantasy 7 to get something out of that movie. I don't know, I just didn't care about it. Impractically sized swords, bad voice acting... I don't mean to step on your toes, just didn't get into it. If you like it an enjoy it, that's grand and I'm happy for you.

What I was trying to explain/ask is, "Do I have to play Final Fantasy VII to get this movie?" In the same way you have to watch Firefly before Serenity, because Serenity has no character establishment at all.

We agree on Firefly and Serenity though. I love it to death.

So, back to topic. I'm browsing through my netflix account, anyone seen any good anime lately?

Thank you! I was viewing a web site with black anime characters and she was listed. I thought the anime sounded interesting so I thought I'd watch and review.

Lol step on my toes? Nah bro you got it all wrong there. The Matrix's fights were very different and far better, as in the first movie, if you're talking beyond that than Advent Children was faaaaaaaaaaaaaaar greater than those other two sacks of crud in almost every way including character development which it had almost 0 amounts of. The fights in Reloaded and Revolution were mediocre while the AC ones were good.
And if you were watching AC in english than you're correct by the voice acting, and hell the dialogue..... dilly dally shilly shally? really?
But this is an anime thread lol, huge swords is a staple of most fantasy related anything that comes from japan, and no sized sword is impractical if you can swing it like it's twig and cut buildings in half with it.
Ever see Gatekeepers 21? Where the girl with the sword gate pulled one out the size of the CITY and cuts an entire hoard of monsters down with it lol, thats a big sword.

I don't have a list of top shows at all, far too many to add to it. But i'd assume it would look something like this.

1 One Piece
2 anything by KEY
3 and below a whole lotta shows
 
I just watched Gurren Lagann recently on netflix about a month or so ago, and DAMN never did i ever believe a show could match/SURPASS Code Geass in shear epicness.

I should have listened to my friends back in the day when they told me to watch it. oh well, my only regret is that i missed out on the epic manlyness for so long.

im now watching Darker then Black and Sgt. Frog.

Oh Funimation and ANIPLIX fan and English dub watcher. :D

Is there any other anime like Gurren Lagann btw?

I'll start it tonight, after some chillaxing video games. Fairy Tail and Gurren Lagann are now on my list too.

Just a question, did anyone else have a serious problem with FMA: Brotherhood's ending? Because I did.

I'm watching Sgt. Frog too an it's a lot better than I presumed it to be. What episode are you on?

Im on episode 21 season 1, and lol i can't believe they had bleeped swearing in this show! is this dub official or was it modified for the western fans like Ghost Stories was?

Also i thought it was gonna be crapy to since it looked way to much like Pokemon imo, but like you said it turned out to be better, its full of lulz.
