Xiba Non-Gameplay Discussion Thread

Actually, that just looks like a reanimation to 66K extensions. How does this suggest Mina's moveset because of one extension? That's a pretty big assumption.
It is a reanimation to 66K extension but the ending is Mina's pogo, even if it is an extension it is straight from Mina.

Again I'm not saying he'll be a Mina clone, I think he'll actually be relatively original compared to some of the replacement characters. All I'm saying is that they've definitely implemented some Mina into him as well as Kilik, although it may end up being just a few things. Lastly with his alternate weapon having a blade on the end, suggests that Mina herself won't be returning. Not my personal wish or anything just what I think is happening.

Given the fact that one of Xiba's weapons is a halberd, I don't think Seong Mina will be in anytime soon.

This is unless:
1. Seong Mina's moveset is revamped or Xiba (with a low chance) has completely different moves than her.
2. Her replacement has a different style. With the guan dao there is actually some possibilities here, like a Japanese character with a naginata instead. Preferably a woman, because historically that was one of the weapons they had used.

oh, I didn't see that one... isn't the handle a bit too short for it to be a halberd though? i thought halberds are usually longer than the wielder's height. this is too short to be even Astaroth's weapon scaled down imo

It's how it's angled is what makes it shorter.

imo the weapon itself isn't angled in a way that would make this kind of drastic foreshortening. also, he is holding it at the end. if it was the lenght of xiba's weapon that would be an extremely unefficient way to hold the weapon. also, the handle part is almost the same thickness throughout the entire weapon which probably means it isn't as drastically foreshortened as one might think.

compare it to this screenshot of xiba

this is in proportion about the same size as the "halberd". now think about how much it would have to point toward the camera to actually end up being foreshortened like that - the blade would become much bigger than it is in that screen in my opinion.

edit: actually looking at the trailer i noticed that you can see the tip of that knights weapon poking out above his fellow soldier's helmet. so the weapom must indeed be quite long. however, the foreshortening on the frontal view of the character looks very weird - maybe it was intended to look like that to confuse the viewers? dunno

the other problem i have with this weapon is that it doesn't really suit xiba's fighting style... maybe it's a different, new halberd wielding character?

it could all in all be just an ugly looking mace. don't automatically assume its longer then it appears..

it appears to be quite long if you look closely in the trailer though. I am not assuming anything but you didn't really read my previous posts lol

looks like a completely different weapon though, its either hilde or raph, or a mina weapon for xiba.. i'll miss you mina T_T

Don't worry, guys. They'll bring Mina back! They'll just change her name, dye her hair white, and give her a bowling ball for a weapon. Poor Mina, you auburn-headed stepchild :( Kilik came in and ate your moves... now it looks like Hilde outright replaced your ranged poke style.

lmao, sc5 looks like a great game, but not being able to play and master my favorite characters from the series is a huge let down.
