Maxi General Q&A

yea i love that its back to 6B4 again. In later matches i was using it and if they tried to step it i was cancelling early and landed a couple of LI K.
 
I'll take an unsafe character with a solid stance switch than a safe character with minimal stance switch.

how about a safe solid stance character? we will never get it. but this might be our best chance to be competitive since SC1. Will it be fun doing it and look creative and awesome? I think we will come up with something after what i have seen.
 
I need more time with the game and I'm considering flying out to Socal Regionals to get more time with the character. I'll probably stay at the hotel that's recommended by the site and will most likely fly in from Buffalo with some lay overs. Arrrrgghhhhh...why does this Maxi have to be this good to make me want to fly to the other side of the US to get more time in?.

HRD or anyone from Cali: If I decide to fly in, would you be able to show me around if it's not too much trouble?

I don't even know where and when the So Cal Regionals are being held? I'd gladly take you along if I knew what's going on.
 
Damn barry I have been thinking the same thing. I want more games with this maxi to get used to this style. I might have to go.

You know what homes. As you know, I also have 2 kids, a wife and stuff. I have an extra room. If you and Barry wanna share an air matress (I may or may not take pics) yall could PROLLY stay at my place in San Diego. SCR is only like an hour and change away from me. I gotta talk it over with the wife.

The only problem is, today is actually my daughters birthday. and it may sound weird that I can explain later, but we were gonna celebrate her birthday that particular weekend. So I have to convincing of the wife to do. Itll be a challenge, but I REALLY wanna go to SCR. And if I can get some legendary maxi players at my house once again (Krayzie has graced me with his presence) then Im all for it.

Im one hellova salesmen. So I gotta come up with a good sales pitch for the wife. So lemme work on that.

But Barry, ArmLegPenisButt (LOL), or ANY other reputable 8wr members are ALWAYS welcome to stay at my place if needed. Even if its not SC related.....but you WILL be forced to play some SC with me....LOL

homie you just let me know and my plane ticket is bought. i would really appreciate it. i will play all the sc you can handle. plus i heard they have a new build, the one with cerv and yoshi and we could talk about new maxi before we get there so you are more prepared than i was.

dude i will sleep on the floor with a fleece blanket. i even pee sitting down as to not get yellow drops on your toilet bowl. im for real a pleasant house guest.

OMFG.....That was the funniest shit!! Honestly the wife is being stubborn but hasnt told me "no" yet. So Im breaking her down!! You know how wives are......sheeeesh

I had a very good opportunity to play SC V with Barry and I forgot the other guy's handle. Sorry man, I'm tired.

Our conclusions come as this: Solid character, GI system sucks a nut sack. The damage is absolutely awesome. He's got a real strong potential to go very far and be a contender for any tournament. The looping system sucks. PSL 1 and 2 is a very weird pattern to follow. Certain attacks transition to a specific loop, whereas you would think the same similar attack would too, it doesn't. Example. 4B[6] >BL. 1B[6]>RC? Shouldn't it loop to BL just 4B?

Barry is absolutely a beast with this. He's got this pretty good. Controllers sucked. I hate Hori sticks. So I almost useless playing.
 
I like it that way so he can get good (not to mention damaging) combos from many different moves and situations. It may also be a little harder for a non-Maxi player to follow the transitions since the moves are so similar.
 
I'm kinda liking that idea as well. I think it's just a matter of getting used to it though.
Mind telling us why the GI system sucks?
