[Chicago, IL] anyone out here play?

When SC5 comes out, we should do sets of Ft5's where each player has to do 5 pushups at the end of each set for each lost they took. That means that one player will at least do 250 pushups every 50 games. Don't like it when I don't work out because I've been playing all day...nor do I like being tired...and it gives an incentive to take less losses.

Really, just stating that's what I'm going to be doing, but it'd be much more fun if someone else participated. >_>
 
Maybe we should make a trip to that one place...GGA or whatever...after SC5 comes out, just to meet and greet some people and let them know we exist.
 
I don't know any of you but, I know you exist :)

SRK is definitely where you'd want to post and check to see whats up with gatherings and whatnot. The SRK gatherings generally have the most people playing Marvel and AE but the new games always get decent attention. There is a decent group of people playing KOF nowadays, MK still gets play at GGA normally but doesn't at Ignite.

If you want to attract some new blood from other games I would suggest going to GGA and playing SC5 when it comes out to get people interested in it. For MK though atleast, most Capcom players just dropped it after a few weeks but there was lots of multi-game people and others who started coming for MK that are still playing it in the Chicago scene.

I've been semi-following SC5 and seem pretty interested in it, I will probably pick it up. Some of the local guys I play MK with seem to be pretty interested in it too.

Also, there best be a tournament scene so Webster can come run the brackets and yell at me.

Yeah, I'll definitely check out GGA once SC5 hits. The couple of times I checked out the Chicago thread on SRK, the people seemed pretty clique-ish...and one of the people from here who went got the same vibe from one of the sessions he went to. Will check out SRK more once SC5 drops still, though.
 
All right. Sc5's been annouced for Evo! This pretty much makes me a 100% go. I'm probably going to buy my flight ticket and the hotel room on my first GI Bill check. Everybody has an idea of who is coming? I'm not sure yet but my girl may come too and I will probably either keep the hotel for more than the duration of Evo or try to find a cheaper one for a bit longer than Evo will last, pending if she will take off of work for the trip. Let's go ahead and get our stuff in order and dominate!

We use the gatherings for learning experiences and to help each other get better at the game.
Chicago has some VERY talented Hardcore players, so please come. We are here for YOU.
 
Think I'm going to go ahead and play Marvel at a couple of tournaments one sc5 hits. Want to use Jill but...obviously...may have to use Trish because of the way the game plays.
 
I play tekken at gga, gonna start playing sc5 when it comes out. count me in for any session, also gonna make sessions at my place, and hopefully some of the tekken players gonna make the transition to sc.

Why would you do that when you could play with us!? We might not have any tournaments but you could roll through and we could do money matches if that's the type of thing you desire. =D

Seriously, though, if you stay in Chicago, you could play with us some time.
